FINALLY! Incoming!
As some of you might know, I posted on this forum here, asking for help, trying to choose between a 111 and 000. Thanks for the suggestions guys, you certainly helped me make up my mind!
But first, a little background... Four years ago, I'd been looking at possibly getting a Panerai. I registered myself and was an ardent lurker on the Paneristi forums. Lurk, lurk, lurk, lurk... save, save, save, save... finally, I had the resources to pull the trigger on a Panerai. I had decided then to go for the Pam176 - I liked the titanium build, and its clean dial appealed to me. So I started the hunt for a used 176, but just my luck... nothing came up in my searches on Paneristi. So I moved on to other forums, TRF being one of them. Naturally (and especially since this is a Rolex forum), I deviated and started getting interested in the Submariner instead. All of a sudden, my interest had suddenly taken a massive turn. Two years of careful research seemed to have been flushed down the drain! I spent months, many months reading up on the Submariner, trying it on at my local AD, and was just about to pull the trigger on a 14060... ...when suddenly, I came across the Tudor Pelagos. Sub looks, titanium build, and blue lume!? Holy crap... I was smitten. I read the Pelagos write-up on Hodinkee, something like 15 times, searched at my local ADs for one, and when I found one at a great price (15+5% discount!), I pulled the trigger. How long did it take for me to go from Sub to Pelagos? Five days Anyway, long story short, two years after the Pelagos, I'd decided for an AP15400, but since then, I bought a new car and a house, so funds have depleted and my AP needs to wait. And then the Pam bug bit me again... Now, after choosing one between the 111 and 000, I had a dilemma; buy from a grey dealer some 3 hours drive away, or get one from a fellow TRF member (located 9,572 miles / ~15,400km away)? Well, some quick PMs, some emails, some whatsapp messages and one quick FaceTime call later... I decided to take the chance, and a leap of faith. Besides, I liked the fact that the watch had a story, and that I would be able to progress that story... if that makes any sense. ...so long story short, here we go... Thank you again to everyone who supplied me with information, pics, and feedback. And much thanks to MG992 for the super smooth transaction! |

Very nice! Welcome to the madness. Be careful with straps or you might find that 15400 being pushed further and further back.

Congrats and welcome to the OP club
I still need to add a stuffed-dial PAM to my own collection someday Now let's see a wristshot and a side-by-side with that awesome Pelagos of yours

Thanks again everyone for the kind words :D And... I understand now with the strap craze. I've had the zero for less than a week, and already I have 2 straps en route to me, with potentially a third. I have to take it slow!
Will wait for the straps before I take some wristshots. In the meantime, here's a quick upload of the zero next to the Pelagos: |

Awesome! The pelagos is a very nice piece. I love the clasp, lume, etc! and i have a sub c!
Good choice on the Panerai. I purchased a 112 and before i put it on, i went to the boutique and purchased a croc strap. :) Just purchased two more from the original boutique in Florence. |
