Rolex Boutique Robbed!!!
Apparently several suspects hit the Mayors Rolex Boutique in International Plaza Tampa, FL this afternoon. Crazy stuff to see on the news in my own backyard. Stay safe out there folks.

Yup. Caught wind of this right after it happened. Same backyard for me and our own Dr Tom Kerr as well. Very exceptional sales staff and good hearted people employed there. Awful. I hope that the scum has what's coming to them.,

I don't understand what they could hope to get out of it, besides high profile and serial numbered items! Goes to show criminals don't always think things through. Glad everyone is safe.

Stupid move...bad enough to steal, but why would you take high-end serialized rolexes?

Pretty soon it will be like airport screening to get into an AD. Truthfully, I couldn't blame them for taking that step either. Unbelievable.

Very glad to hear no one was injured, only been in there once but had a very good conversation with one of the female sales people regarding a future SS DJ for my wife. Hope they catch the bastards and the heavy hammer of the law drops hard and fast.

What happens to the AD? Does insurance cover it, minus a deductible? What are we talking, a $2000 loss? |

be interesting to know what kind of security the store has? Maybe time for one of those 'buzz in, buzz out' doors EDIT: Reminds me of the time Parkhouse (Southampton, UK Rolex AD) got robbed. The thieves used a lorry to reverse into the front of the store where the Rolexes were displayed. Not sure what security measures can prevent that sort of action though |

There seems to be a rash of these thefts going on in the last few months. There was a guy in Pennsylvania who would ask to look at a Rolex and then run out of the store as soon as the clerk got it out of the case. He's shown up on surveillance cameras in a couple of states (at least it looks like the same guy). A couple of other sledgehammer thefts too, including a group who tore across my state, Michigan, late last summer. They hit my AD among other stores. The cops eventually caught the thieves, but the watches haven't been recovered.

BTW ... Do you ever notice that Rolex is the only brand that gets stolen like this? You never hear about big, brazen robberies of Patek Philippe, Panerai, Vacheron Constantin, Omega, IWC, or whatever. Thugs are one-trick ponies.

I just bought a Sub-C there in September. Very nice people. My wife's friend was right outside the store when it happened and she posted a picture of someone in custody from her cell phone. I hope they get the scumbags and I hope Mayors restocks soon too because I'm in the market for an Explorer II.

I'd like a list of serials that were taken.., surely they'll show up in Miami or New York first.

Crazy, and sad! Many years ago, the Mont Blanc boutique at "The Shops at Willow Bend" in Plano, Texas got robbed. Again, no one was hurt but same kind of deal. |

When news websites and newspapers host a story such as this they should include all the REF numbers of the stolen watches; the store knows what ones were taken and I'm sure the online communities will keep their eyes peeled for them
