Pam 305 for a 11610LN good or Bad

I have been offered a trade of my 2014 116610LN plus 1500 Euros for a 2014 Pam 305. Would I be mad to make this trade. I love the Pams and this would fulfill my need for a new watch however I do worry that I will miss the Sub at a later stage. Anyway interested to hear peoples opinions too the trade and I am aware as this is a rolex site that most people would feel the need to reject the offer. Anyway a good discussion is always useful with lots of counter and pro points. Thanks PS I already have a pam005 which I can use Monday to Friday in the office so the question is which sub for casual weekend wear?

1. Rolex > Panerai
2. If you disagree with no 1, then you're in the wrong forum...

I suspect you'll miss the Sub. Plus you already have a Pam.

I've had my share of Panerai, and I'd say that the 116610 is nicer than the 305.

I like the Sub more and if you did the trade you shouldn't be coming out of pocket.
I do love the 305 by the way. One of my favorite PAMs.

I wouldn't sell for a PAM only another Rolex, save and add if you must.

Why not? Get the one you want/love. It's not like the Sub is rare.
The 305 is a very nice piece.

You already have a great pair. Personally, I prefer 005 + Sub over 005 + 305. But, if you're tired of the Rolex, go for the 305, it's pretty sweet.

Why would you not expect to have to pony up additional cash as part of a trade given that the list price new of a 305 is 7600 Euros with no discount in an AD ( I have checked) while the RRP price in the same AD for the Rolex Sub is 7100 Euros but they will give 10% discount bringing it down to 6400 Euros.

I don't think the Pam will hold it's value nearly as well, and when the time comes to flip it, you will feel the pinch. Stick with the Rolex.

I have a 305, an I think that it wears very well for a 47 mm watch, do to its titanium case. I'm assuming that you are talking about a "Q" series Paneri, since you said new. If the watch is used, it is only worth an even trade or +/- 300-400 dollars, depending on the condition of both, that's just my opinion.
Check the (Watchrecon) and you will see that most used SubC or going for around $ 7000, while most used Pam 305 start at $ 6,850, So you be the judge based on the market.

With all of that said, I really do enjoy wearing the 305, I like it so much that I have to put it in my bank safe to keep from wearing it. I think Paneria is an acquired taste you either like them or not.
But I do think that you are on the wrong forum for the direction you want to go with your trade.

I would keep the sub unless you hanker for giant watches, the deal is OK at best, but probably not in your favour, but does mean a change which as they say is as good as a holiday.

The brand difference and style aside, the size difference is huge. I think you'd have to take into consideration whether you 005 is small, just right, just slightly big, or already too big, before considering a 47mm.

I love the 305, but I can never pull off 47mm. They need to make a submersible in 44mm without magnified date.

My opinion, if you can pull off the 305, go for it, but only if it's an even trade. I don't see why you'd have to pony up anther $1500 for the trade.

Trading a quality ROLEX Sub into a panerai is not strong move.

Never trade OUT of ROLEX into another brand, unless it's PATEK or AP..

Pam 305 is a nice piece, but not at the expense of a ROLEX...plus you have to worry about the strap release breaking as they do fairly often....and that is a big pain in the A$$ to deal with...

So...Make the STRONG move and keep the ROLEX SUB

Thanks for the opinions and advise, think I will try and get a better deal and do my due diligence on the seller. Would love o use the sales section on TRF however most sellers are from the US and I would be liable to Value added tax if the taxman opened my parcel of 23%. So I am looking at dealers on Chrono 24 from inside Europe as I would not be liable to any VAT on sellers inside the EU. PS anyone ever buy a watch from UHREN2000 or the Cologne watch centre any feed back welcomed. Thanks again
