Tudor Heritage Black Bay

Hello Everyone-

New to the site and glad to be here. I finally have the opportunity to get a Tudor Black Bay for $2500 and wanted to know if anyone had any input on the new Tudor line. I've always like the Tudor line but I've been hearing mixed reviews about the new line having mechanical issues and repair service issues.

Any input would be nice.

Thanks

Judah

I've never heard such things..

The movements in Tudors are some of the most reliable and used movements in the world for high-end watches..

Haven't heard a bad thing about the Tudor line, except from watch nuts who don't like that it doesn't have an in-house movement. That said, the ETA movements they do use should be totally reliable; it's a proven product.

I had issues with 3 straight brand new Tudor Heritage Chronos but they were easy fixes. Two of them the hour hand did not work correctly and needed to be reset and one where the date wheel would not work correctly. No issues with my other Tudors however I won't buy another THC.

That's unlucky. My THC keeps better time than all my Rolex watches, most of which have been regulated by RSC in the last year. On the downside, some enamel peeled off the top of the winding crown. Haven't taken it in yet but should be ok under warranty.

Well I have terrible luck with THCs then. Sucks because I love the looks and everything else about it. Just not pushing my luck for a 4th time.

The movements themselves are pure workhorses, however we heard a couple of issues here on TRF related to Quality Control. That is just a handful of watches out of the many thousands produced, so I would be confident purchasing a BB! The fit and finish would still be much great than many watches in the $2500 price range!

I own the BBB for 5 months now and runs +2 secs a day. It's a great watch and especially for that price

Black Bay is hands down the best value out there at it's price point. Do your homework on this one of the best reviewed watches of the last couple years.

I second this. In all of my years of being into watches, I have never seen another watch be so universally admired, loved and get such continually favorable reviews. By owning one, I understand why.

I agree. I've never read a bad review yet and haven't heard the words 'its a cut price rolex' either. Everyone seems to think they stand on their own as a watch maker.

I now own 4 and love them to bits.
