Lucky Day!!!!

Story backdrop, I had been on the fence as to whether I should flip my UN for an M series Pepsi and today I decided the UN needs to go....but not due to a Pepsi purchase. One of my local AD's told me they had a Pepsi on hand so I headed over to check it out. Turns out it was a K series Coke. Well since I was there I asked the question that I always ask when visiting an AD - Do you have any Daytona's hiding in the safe. Sales rep didn't know & went to the vault to check. I didn't even contemplate he would come back with one in hand. As luck would have it, they had just gotten in an M series white dial Daytona late last week. Needless to say I bought it....for list price. I'd take the obligatory pics but my wife has my digital camera with her & she's out of town on a business trip till Thursday. I am beyond thrilled! I've been on waiting list at multiple AD's now for what seems like an eternity but to just stumble on one while looking for a Pepsi was quite the surprise. Unfortunately as bad as I want the Pepsi, it will have to wait. I'll get some pics up later this week.

LMAO, I called her from the AD to clear it though her first (not that I need permission but it's a respect thing, she would do the same for me before making a big ticket purchase). She's in CA right now & 3 hours behind me, I woke her up, lol....her response was, "why did you even ask, you had better buy it". Nice way to start the week.

Congrats Allen! A lucky day indeed! And I think it's great that you and your wife agreed it was a good idea! I'd tell my hubby the same thing!

Looking forward to your photos!

For sure

Funny thing is I've been on the Daytona waiting list at this AD for almost a year. Apparently being on "the list" serves no purpose because I was never called. I did try for a discount as well but as expected no deal, lol. Just happy to have gotten it at MSRP before another price hike. Good day for sure, need to sell my UN now. Wifey says I should keep it but I know I'll likely never wear it enough to justify holding on to it. Far too nice of a watch to have if it's just going to live in the safe.

I know where you're coming from. A couple of months ago there were quite a few SS Daytona aquisitions posted here & I thought to myself, am I the only one who can't find one? Maybe you'll find yours like I found mine....when you're NOT looking for it, lol.

" I thought to myself, am I the only one who can't find one? " Funny, I'm always saying that to myself.

I'll have her read the thread when she gets home later this week. She'll sincerely appreciate the kind words. It will also give her some insight as to why I enjoy this forum.

Thanks everyone!
