Icon20 Opinions & advice on this Rolex oyster perpetual ladies

Hi All
Not new to the forum, just an avid watcher rather than a poster.
Thanks,to all for the wealth of information gained.

My partner is in the market for a Rolex, been looking for sometime for a nice full set Rolex.

I have found this on chrono24 https://www.chrono24.com/en/rolex/oy...acturerIds=221

Has anyone dealt with this seller,as would like me to bank transfer the money ?
Almost ready to push the button on this as seems like a good buy especially as it has president bracelet & diamond dial.

My concerns seems a lot of stretch in the bracelet.

Would she be better spending a little more money & going for a datejust model, just in case she wishes to upgrade in a later date /
Your opinions & advise would be welcomed.

Lots of stretch on that bracelet and the end links look sloppy too. Case looks polished and the coronets on the crown and clasp look like they've been half polished away. I would say save your money and buy a new one or if you're really set on a vintage piece, look around some more.

Agree with Joe, that watch has been polished hard not to mention that the bracelet looks like it's on it's last leg. The bezel sharpness is gone and the crown looks very smooth also. I'd pass for sure on this one.

Thanks for all your honest opinions glad i posted.
Only have about £2000 to spend so vintage is the only way to go.
looks like more searching in order unless any one on here can point in the direction.

For that price range, why don't you take a look at 15210 and similiar references. Modern enough, reasonable size of 34mm, raised markers and coronets, roman or nice arabic dials available. Plus itbhas the mighty 3135 caliber inside.

Bought my wife one recently, looks cool on her wrists.
Couple of pics for reference : www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=385651

Bonus - resale value one day will be much better than the purely "ladies only" sizes.

I think you can save a bit more and get something much better. Not sure I'd be much help with the UK market, though I know we have some UK members that can chime in. Best of luck!

Thanks Joe
I agree unfortunately our import duties & vat makes buying from the US a little less cost effective.
Maybe Tudor is the way to go,when only have that budget available.
like you say maybe some UK members may come up with some better offers.
cheers.

I am not an expert but it does not look authentic. Perhaps other forum members can comment.

That is an old watch, over polished everywhere and the bracelet is completely thrashed.. I wouldn't touch it..

There are plenty of better condition examples to be had. Also, that model is only 24mm in diameter where the Ladies DJ is 26mm and a bit easier to read..

wayyyy overpolished case, crown, and bracelet clasp, bracelet stretch is wayyy to much, dial looks painfully aftermarket and not OEM rolex,
ANd a non date model??

$2700??!?!

Crazy... good luck to the seller finding someone naive enough to think that watch is worth that much money.

I am a newbie and I finally understand the term "over polised" by the close-up of this watch.

X2. And you now also know what a stretched out bracelet looks like. Wow. That will be a job for Michael Young.

And that price, I have a excellent SS/blue stick 26mm K serial (2002) Date that I will sell.

But I would take some peoples suggestion and look at a DJ or an AirKing if you can swing it. At $2700 that may be tough to find a nice example.

On the style advice end of this thread, I would suggest a more androgynous model. My wife wears a 31mm mid size Oyster Perpetual ("3,6,9") that she loves and gets tons of compliments on.

That's a trashed out Jubilee bracelet and not a President.

Pass on it big time.

Hi All
Thanks again for all your replies.
Wonder why he did not reply to my questions with regards to the amount of stretch in the bracelet.
Back to searching, shame i live in the UK, so many good deals in the US on here, just our import duty & tax, makes it not viable.:0(

Agree with all comments, wondering given we see a number of new members come on here often with some choices that are not ideal, maybe we could have a continuous thread, where one of the experienced members (maybe with time on their hands) offer to assist in some ideas, almost like a valet service. Could be fun, I don't have time but I like many probably could have done with some help in the early days, luckily I bought no lemons but it was more luck than planning.
