Working in the UK again this week. Staying in London Thursday night before heading back to the states Friday morning.

Staying walking distance to Paddington Station. Looking for a restaurant recommendation for Thursday night.

You guys always give me good suggestions, any new places I might want to try?

Umimi most amazing Malaysian food

If I want a simple rib eye steak I go to the Hawksmoor but that's in Covent garden which is a bit further althought I believe they have 2 restaurants in London. If you go have a phone to guide you there as its a bit of a maze in the back streets the first time you go and the restaurant is almost hidden behind a black door and underground.
If you wanted a slightly cheaper option for Asian food try ping pong, they have them all over london and usually easy to get in. Nice food!

Just kidding. I know your trip is over, but I will still chime in.

I have stayed at the Royal Lancaster a few times and I usually try to get to the Churchill Arms in Kensington for Thai.

I live in London and if you take a cab or tube to Angel, walk along upper street and you will find numerous little unique restaurants that are always busy, and the area is trendy without the stuffy formalities you sometime experience in Central London.

The Ledbury was fantastic.

Had oyster civiche, shitake wrapped lobster tail, venison, and a chocolate torte. They also brought out several different items before and after dinner, that were off menu, for me to sample.

The service was outstanding.

The thing that really impressed me was the beer list. As you would expect, they had a great wine list. But they also have a small but well represented list of local breweries, and some fantastic beers. It was pricey, but it was very good. As I had a late reservation, I was one of the last people to finish dinner. I had the opportunity the chat with some of the staff about restaurants, food, and beer. Some really nice people working there, who really know their stuff.

Thanks again for the suggestion. I greatly enjoyed it.
