rest assured Lauren, that watch has nothing what so ever to do with Rolex, it's as fake as fake can be. And BTW, I know you are new but these posts about fakes aren't allowed, fake rolex information isn't something this site wants to represent or catalogue.

Of course there is a way, but you must at least visit Rolex.com for the first time in your life for starters.

A Rolex-looking item came into her possession, and she went to a forum that bills itself as "The Internet's Finest Rolex Community". Why does everyone jump on her? 'Hey, wanna buy a watch?' has been going on long before this forum and if you all think you are going to affect the 'fake Rolex' stigma associated with the brand by not discussing it, you're delusional.

Why the hostile attitude toward the OP? This sub-forum is THE one place to post a photo and ask if genuine or not. What's with you New Englanders? Get your butt kicked by a blizzard and take it out on innocent folks here?

"Internet finest rolex community" something I found in a box lot I thought best place to ask was rolex community forum, a place I thought would give me a adult answer, but unfortunately I was greeted by condescending arrogant replies. Its a pity you're not as "fine" as your watches

Lauren, unfortunately what you find in these box lots is something with the word Rolex on it. That's usually what makes the novice buy the box lots.
They think that they will get a genuine Rolex watch for a few pounds.
If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
It may say Rolex somewhere on it, but rest assured that is definitely not a Rolex watch.
Complete fake, often sold by looky looky men in holiday resorts.
Best place for it is in the nearest bin.
The battery inside it is probably worth more than the watch.

Sometimes the answer to questions are not what we want to hear.
I was generalising in my reply and did not intend to infer that you bought the job lot, because it might contain a Rolex watch.
We see job lots day in - day out, on auction sites with poor pictures of what's actually in the job lot.
Rest assured they will make out that they don't know exactly what they are selling, when in fact they do.
It's just another way of scamming folk of their hard earned cash.
Rolex make only one model of Quartz watch.
If you google Oysterquartz and compare it to your POS, you can see the difference and you don't even have to be an expert.

Its not about wanting the answer I wanted hear It really not about that its about how the people in this forum tried to belittle me for asking a question, my reply was because you assumed I bought the joblot for the watch, which I didnt... I had no clue what to search in google or I would of done that.

"Posts about fakes aren't allowed." Since when? And by the way, Ignoring the rampant proliferation of luxury knockoffs, especially in a Rolex forum, is like drinking 20 year scotch all day and assuming you'll never get drunk.

Really?

Since always, except for the WatchOut section, and even in here we don't really discuss fakes. I often check to see if crowncollection says "no good sorry" or "watch is fine," but we don't proceed to have chats about the fake watches.

No one was trying to insult her. And that might be a Moderator you are talking about too.

Tread carefully.

Apparently we have much different definitions of what an insult is, and no I wasn't referencing a moderator.

I would like to apologize to you for some of the rude uncalled for responses from some of the jack-hats here. This is not a good representation of what this forum is truly like. The majority of forum members are polite and courteous and will answer questions from newbies with tactfulness. Welcome to the forum, friend!

You keep repeating this phrase in every other of your posts!

Is there someone in particular you have in mind?

Anyone have an idea how many FOUND Rolexes ever turn out real? It seems that 100% of them always end up being fake but it might just be the ones brought on this board... would it be safe to say that 99.9% are fake?

While this is true of the forum generally when it comes to fakes we are happy to state whether a watch is real or not, provided we believe the question is genuine and not trolling or just testing us, which is why many senior members no longer have time for this on this section, but we will not explain why as you should do your own research on fakes and we don't want to help scammers sell their fakes as genuine.

There are many ways to tell a fake. We just don't discuss them here because it would give the fakers the insight to make better fakes.
