Thai and Rolex

Is it safe to wear my GMT IIc while eating Thai hot Pad See Ew? I was concerned the inferno vapors might melt the bezel or pit the bracelet.

Any concerns can be alleviated by consuming what's on the dish!

Amateur!! Pad See Ew is not even hot.

Try some Pad Ka Pow :D
It's spicy, but not too bad. I usually eat it once a week or so.

When sick, I eat a huge bowl of Tom Yum Goong and have them make it extra spicy. Noses will run and tears shed, but it seems to help the recovery process.

Glad you guys are eating other food. I love Thai food, but I'm biased. haha So happy to live here, the best food in the world IMHO.

If you order it Thai hot it can be a little blistering.

Dangerous pastime. If you accidentally stick your wrist into the rice you may never get it out of the bracelet.

It's good, but kind of plain plain. More of a quick thing to eat. Laab moo (moo = pork) looks similar, but much nicer Isan spicy/sour taste. Eat it with sliced cabbage if too hot.

I would suggest pork dishes like Nam Thok Moo, which is sliced pork with a wonderful Isan rub/sauce. It is quintessential Isan food as it hits you with sour, mint, and a bit of spice.

If you haven't had Tom Yum Goong, try it. When I lived in the US, it was the single Thai food that made me open my eyes to the Thai tastes. Here, if you go to 5 places to eat, you get it 5 different ways. So you might want to try it at many places.

Tom Ka Gai is kind of like Tom Yum, except it is made with coconut milk and has a creamy taste. Gai means chicken, so no shrimp.

Tod Mon Goong (goong = shrimp, bpla = fish) is a tasty appetizer. They are fish or shrimp cakes. I like the shrimp version as they typically come with a honey type dipping sauce.

Gregg great suggestions my friend. Looks like a month of trying new Thai dishes.

Does anyone know if it is safe to wear your Omega or Panerai while eating spicy Thai food? The GMT IIC passed the test.

I love Pad Kee-Mow (beef). I order it Thai hot, and tell them as hot as they can make it. It's still not hot enough for me.
