I'm thinking about picking up a used 183
Black Seal G series.
The dial has "Black Seal" above the 6 o'clock position and "Panerai" below the 12 o'clock position and "Panerai Panerai Panerai" etc engraved on the back plate, which is visible through the crystal caseback. Asking price is a firm $4,200, which seems about right after perusing the internet marketplace. The same dealer also has an H, which like the rest of the Black Seal series switches the "Black Seal" and "Panerai" positions on the dial with no "Panerai Panerai Panerai" etc engraving on the back for $4,100. Both watches come with box and papers and a one year warranty. Both watches are in immaculate condition. I know the dealer, a local watch seller, very well, so no issues there. This watch is calling my name. It nicely fits my um, need for a large, manual wind watch with a crystal caseback. Any reason not to do it?

Go for the G
At $4200 the 183 G series Black Seal is a steal, at that price I say go for it.
Usually they sell at around $4500 as such his price is more than fair. |
