Ladie's Yachtmaster?
Just picked up the smallest Yachtmaster SS/Platinum, which will be my wife's anniversary gift, and of course am looking for as much information/reviews as I can. Does anyone know what movement it has? My guess is that it's a ladies datejust in a compact Yachtmaster dress. All replies appreciated!

It has the Cal. 2235. Said to be one of the best Rolex movements made!
Here's a review of the mens' YM. Only differences are the movt., size and that the ladies and midsize YM's have TWINlock crowns.

Hi.
Congratulations. I bought one for my wife two months ago. Shirley has always had nice wristwatches (Tag.Longines)but when I saw the yachtmaster in the window and she tried it on that was it. She has worn it every day since and even let me photograph it for the forum, but she does think we are all Regards Mike. |

Thanks! Where can I get more info on the 2235? My wife has a number of fine watches but never cared much for any of the Rolex ladies models... until one day when we were browsing the local Ben Bridge (which was having a Rolex Event) and she was politely looking at the sales associate's suggestions. She tried on several Datejusts and didn't quite like the bezel, the dial, or the band... or the combinations available. I then asked if they had a Yachtmaster; the saleslady left for a few minutes and returned with a nice M series, which immediately sang to my wife! Great, except that I didn't care for the ROLEXROLEXROLEX around the rehaut. She checked and the only other one in stock was a Z without the ostentatious lettering... SOLD! It's a terrific match for her platinum wedding and engagement ring... unfortunately, despite some protest, I have the watch locked up in the safe to be presented on the date of our anniversary.

This is a very good article with photo's of the 2235 caliber
http://people.timezone.com/msandler/...ex/Rolex1.html What I would like to see is a photo of the 35 mm mid-size YM with the case back off. There must be a lot of metal between the outside edge of the case to the 2235, since it is only 20 mm in diameter. |
