Hi All,

I'm looking at getting my first Rolex and have narrowed it down to 1 of 3 choices.

GMT Master II Blue and Black Bezel 116710 BLNR (£6K)

Sea Dweller 16600 (£5.5K)

50th Edition Submariner 16610 LV (£5K)

What would you go for? ANy and all comments would be appreciated.

I have both BLNR and LV-c

But in the end, I'd stick with the BLNR !

Well, from that list I would pick the BLNR...although I prefer the LN.

If it were me I would probably lean towards the BLNR but then again I don't know. They are all great choices.

I not only want a watch that's great but also that's going to appreciate well in the next 10 years or so. Surely the LV and SD are going to appreciate more as they are discontinued or is that a false assumption and if so why?

Thanks for all the responses so far. Those pictures make it harder as they both look so good haha.

lol only appreciation you are going to get is your appreciation

modern watches do not increase in value you will be lucky not to lose more than £1,000

I love the 16600 personally, have had two and sold them and another is coming today cause I can't stay away. For me the perfect watch. No cyclops, without the ceramic bezel it's a little less flashy and the lugs are nicer to me. I just wish that it had the newer style bracelet / clasp. Maybe in the future I will add that, but the 16600 was for me!

16600 for me, tried one today actually in Bristol. It was a mint 2007 version and listed at £5,350 and I was told there was quite a bit of room for negotiation, you can definitely find one for less than £5.5k. Picking a watch to appreciate in value makes no sense, watches are not good investments, especially modern ones.

BLNR.
Or I'd also consider the 116600 SD if you haven't already.

The only reason I mentioned appreciation as a factor is that my friend has a 2007 16600 SD he purchased in 2011 for 3K and is now selling for considerably more. Has there been a change in the market since then or was he lucky at the time?

Sd 16600

Partial to the SD, but all are good choices. Prices are lower in the U.S. WHy not take a vacation and pickup a nice example here in the states...
