Your thoughts on a Oysterdate Ref#6694...

I came across an OD for sale locally and I was looking for some input on this model. The seller told me that it was a Ref#6694, which leads me to believe that it is a manual winding movement. I only have one photo for now, but what do you guys think? Is it a good value for $1500? I'm not sure if I really would like a winding movement?

Please share your thoughts....

What is best a custom Rolex or a Rolex that is stuck in custom?

Buy a professional camera and you´re a professional

Yeah thats what I was thinking... my guess is that this OD is a 1970s and if I have to keep winding it everytime I will probably lose interest in it. I will try to see how firm he is on the price... maybe I could get it for a grand?

USD1500 for a 6694... Your kidding IMHO!! Unless with box and papers it is abit overvalued These can be had for as little as SGD1200-1800 depending on condition.

Thnaks bud. The more I think about it the more I become turned off. Why even pay $1000 for a 30 year old watch that is not really valueble or collectable. For a little more money I can pick up a 16234 with a saphaire crystal and automatic movement. Thanks for your imput, .

exactly my thoughts too. You can even go TT for not that much more then the 16234. Also you must beware that the preowned shops are offering quite a high amount for 6694 (I was quoted S$800-1000) for a watch that wasnt in the best of shape.

I hear that in Italy and France, the 6694 has good demand.

Agreed. 1500 bucks is way too much.
