Don't have one but I'd rather fancy myself a new X6 M.

Had a chance to drive the macan turbo on a small street course during a porsche track day.

Very tight drive for an SUV, and I owned two x5s in the past. The fact that it has PDK is what makes it awesome. Not sold on the rear end design or the price.

Salesman tried to sell me on it, coming out of my 911 lease, as I told him I wanted a bit more space and comfort. He is right it does tick the boxes, but If I am shelling out 85k for a porsche...it wasn't going to be that one.

Would prefer an x5 personally but granted it is larger.

They look really good... It's a contender for my wife's next vehicle (currently has an X3). We may go a little bigger though and look at the Cayenne or X5.

Cool looking little SUV maybe see one in my wife's future. She had the Cayenne S and loved it so we shall see.

Cayenne is far better and I can see the Macans residual value being terrible.

I saw the Macan at the L.A. Auto Show. Went there with the consideration that we would want one in the near future. We liked the way it looks, very sporty and nimble looking for an SUV but was disappointed by the interior. It felt a little cheap and I don't like all of the buttons in the center console. Porsche's are very pricey too and just did not feel there was compelling value.

I am very partial to BMW's spartan (but still luxurious feeling) interior, as well as exterior styling and performance.

I thought the Cayenne was the re-badged Cayenne and the Macan is the Q3?

Not sure though. Can't keep all the VW offerings straight.

Not an expert but I believe the Cayenne share underpinnings with Tourag, Q7 and the Macan with the Q5.

I know prices are different in every country based on taxes and other factors, but in Australia I think they will have amazing residual values (way better than Cayenne), and can probably sell for new price 12 months in, Merc A45 (hatch) buyers are selling second hand cars for more than the official new price 12 months in.

I like it... it's becoming extremely popular here in the SF area. It'll be a huge success for Porsche, no doubt.

Thanks. The Australia car market seems a little nuts....

I bought one in December and it's a fantastic SUV. Sounds good, drives like a sports car and plenty of room for my needs.

Clearly, not as rapid as my Turbo S, which is just crazy, but still fast enough to bring a smile to my face.......

But watch those extras since if you're anything like me the base cost will rise by £20k once you've got the 20 inch spyder wheels, panoramic roof, leather interior etc etc .....But definitely recommended providing you think it's big enough..........

My buddy has one and I've spent a good amount of time driving/riding in it. I'm not the biggest fan of the looks (especially rear end) however the way it drives is tough to beat. I would love to have one as a daily driver -- perfect size (for me at least), great engine, and great handling. I was told that they are pretty pricey and dealers are not discounting them much (if at all).

i don't own one but i did drive the s and the turbo back to back for a few minutes at a drive day. the turbo is worth the extra but they're both small if you have kids older than 7 or carpool. try the SQ5 and MB GLA AMG if you want to compare its direct competitors.

the X3 35i M Sport gets my vote however in that snack bracket. a straight 6 turbo is hard to pass up before they're all extinct.

I have a buddy who just bought the turbo. He loves it. He has enough room to put his hockey equipment in it. It sounds great and is fast!!!

Great car but for the money I think an sq5 would be a better buy. Same size as they are off the same base and I kind of think the sq5 looks a bit better.

Thanks Ken......And I would definitely recommend you looking at the Macan for your good wife when the time comes...... a lot easier to handle and much sportier than the Cayenne and still plenty of room.

And, not that you would need to worry about it... but the extras do add up. IMO , it looks much better with the larger 20" Spyder wheels and definitely looks and feels nicer inside with the glass panoramic roof. Leather is a must and, depending on the paint colour chosen, the option to have all the chrome around the windows blacked out with darkened rear windows really gives it a very cool and meaner look.

But also be careful with the seats as the base cost version, unbelievably, comes with a manual front passenger seat!!! So all levers rather than electric which is only on the drivers seat as standard and not what you would expect in a car in this price range.......Something I didn't even think would have been possible on a Porsche......and I've ended up having a huge argument with Porsche for not pointing this out to me especially as I had added virtually every other extra.......

Amazing, like all of your posts,Steve! Bet she gets more time than your Turbo.
Also,that watch!

Everything Porsche has is a la carte,so the lack of power seats is sad for that price range.
Hope all is well on your side.
I may be in the market for a new car soon!
