My Pride and Joy... and it's PURPLE! ^^ Let's see YOUR PURPLE!

Hey guys was just wondering how many others have some purple dialed Rolexes out there~ I find them very intriguing and think they are one of the coolest dials because each and every one has a different shade of a Bluish Purple ... some all solid and some in splotchy gradients yet alone they just turn by themselves and are all cool in their own ways... kind of like a maturing natural substance that has a life of it's own~
Sooo let's see some Purple dials out there in different lightings guys~

Here's a few shots of my Sub 16808 "nipple" Dial that I took with my phone... yeah not the best quality so I will take some more later but you can still kinda get an idea for now~ So let's see em!

Just amazing. And I also love rolex enforcer although he goes off on tangents a lot, but I like that kind of humor.

Really cool to see the blue turn to purple. I wonder if this is from the suns UV rays or just from the enamel on the dial ageing. My Bluesy is 18 years old but has not changed color, yet. Maybe 10 more years will show something purple.

Also Sublover... usually it's mostly from the UV rays and also due to aging~ As for mine, The AD I got it from took it in on a trade in about 15 years ago and was basically almost New Old Stock as the previous owner never really wore it and had it in his safe for yeeears so he never even had it serviced so the back was never even opened... the thing has never even been polished with sharp lugs and tight bracelet with no stretch... And once they took it in as the trade they had it in their store's safe and then on display for about 10 years and then put in in their window display that had direct sunlight on it in the daytime... They said about 4 years before I purchased it... it was COMPLETELY BLUE and didn't realize it was even changing because in certain lighting it still looks blue... nonetheless I was stoked to acquire it as I thought it was so unique since most that I have seen with discolored bezels like this the wtach body itself is also worn but this thing's MINT everywhere else!
Not to mention, the day that I purchased it was the first time this beaut's backing was ever even opened up! Even the technician/watchmaker was surprised at how clean and untouched it was inside... Here are the pics I took that day~

Really fascinating story, Redhot. The great thing is you have the benefit of the patina from direct sun without the years of use and wear and tear. Great find!
