A legend and Rolex lover

Had his YG yachtmaster stolen when last away. Loves his watches and commented on mine whilst wearing his temporary swatch!

Bummer. Well, at least you got to meet a nice guy and I hope his watch is recovered (or was insured).

Lovely guy and yes he was insured. As boxers go immensely down to earth.

It's the guy on the left, mostly "famous" in the UK.

Should of been more well known - he did beat quite a few Americans. . Never ducked a fight, fighting anyone put in front of him.

Yes he did and the Vegas referee kept splitting them up. He had a punchers chance against mayweather but pacman destroyed him.

Ricky Hatton, the only man to never say no to a fight be it paquaio or mayweather. So in the auction I'm now the proud owner of a Benn v Eubank glove hand signed to me by Ricky. Some things are rated higher than my Rolex collection.

Not too surprised this photo was taken in a bar. Such a great fighter, I hope he gets control of his demons and lives a long life. We don't need another Johnny Tapia.

Hatton's destruction of Kostya Tszyu was one of boxing's greatest nights (although not for Tszyu, who suffered a career ending brain injury in the bout). If he could have controlled his conditioning between fights, he could have given Mayweather and Pacquiao all they could handle, instead of the middling efforts he offered in those two bouts.

What could have been.

Ricky Hatton was barely a "B" level boxer in my opinion.

Take a good look at his record. Very few A level opponents. I stand by my assessment of him being a B level fighter at best.

With all due respect you don't know much about boxing is you class Kostya Tszyu as a second rate boxer when he was regarded as the best pound for pound fighter in the business when Hatton beat him. Hatton also beat Castillo after breaking 4 of his ribs - This is the same fighter that should of beat Floyd Mayweather in 2002. Mayweather is also quoted as saying Ricky Hatton was one of the toughest opponent he had faced and he was the 2005 Ring magazine fighter of the year.

That is not B level.

Nice pic! I'll bet that was a really cool experience. Did you ask him who he thinks will win on May 2?

Mayweather. I still think it will be a draw followed by another rematch with both fighters earning enough money to buy a country.

I always rated Hatton. He was a decent boxer. I think he liked the pints with his mates too much though. One of the lads, I think if he had never been a drinker he could have been even greater.

1000%. He admitted that himself. He must of blown most his money now as he is doing the after dinner speaking circuit - Which I would recommend to anyone. 1st one I have been too where you spend 2 hours prior to it starting sat next to your Idol drinking beer!

All MMA fights now, people want to see some blood. Nothing beats a good boxing match though, I hate seening fights end 30 seconds in due to a choke out.

Very unfair to refer to Hatton as a B level boxer.

Prior to his last 5 fights, he had an unblemished run of 43 wins and had also held world titles at two weights. IMO that places him in fairly exalted company and definitely not B rated......

I have a friend who knew him from Manchester and his love of a pint (well lots of them......) and big weight gain between fights was always going to bring an early end to his career.......

I wouldn't say he was B level either. This will be a good year for boxing fans as more fights are going to be televised. Also it seems as though the promoters are wanting to make better match ups.
