Black vs White Daytona - I can end the debate on which is easier to read
Now that I have the black and the white Daytona, I can say that the black one is definitely easier to read. Now that this debate is finally over with, here is a pic of my 6 year old daughters future watch.

Good to know. It seems like most people say the opposite. I have the white and have no legibility issues at all.
Congrats on your [daughter's] new Daytona! |

And by the way, isn't Camaro the white trash car?

I own the black dial and have heard several times white is easier to read, black is hard enough for me, can't read it without my glasses but I love it and will keep it forever. So good to know white is harder makes me feel better :)

I Spent Far too long Reading up on the Daytona and its legibility, I looked at both in a poor lighting and the White Dial was better, I had almost given up and started looking at Sub's but my heart was with the Black Dial Daytona , We went to the Caribbean in I got to try the 2 in better indoor lighting the white had the edge in legibility but I then tried them in bright sun light and the Black had better clarity due to the stronger contrast, I bought the Black and love it either way you cannot go wrong, but one point I would mention is they will never read as well as a Sub due to the cluttered face and this will always be an issue if you have diminishing sight or in poor light i.e.: need reading glasses and don't have them on, I do struggle a bit but realise one day most of us will be wearing glasses which will bring the watch back into focus, like others have said I have an iPhone for the time Lol! Excellent Watch !!

I've had both, too, and found the white to be easier to read. Isn't it funny how different our perspectives can be?

I have had both. White with the silver sub dials seemed hardest to read. Personally I think they should bring the black sub dials back for the white face and eliminate the silver all together.

I've owned the white and currently own the black dial. White was more legible but I much preferred the look of black for some reason I can't put my finger on. Wear my black dial way more than when I owned the white dial.

Who cares about legibility? Since when do people buy a rolex of any kind for its legibility of time? And chrono functions ? Really?? I thought its just about the " crown" ??

Not to make things worse, but I just flipped my black Daytona for white. To me, I struggled telling time on the black dial and find the white dial much more legible.

I've had both, for me white is easier to read. On a side note, how come Rolex can't put a tick mark for every minute on the minutes sub-dial? The seem to skip one every 5 minutes. For me that would sure help the legibility of the chrono.

I disagree, I find the white one considerably easier to read. But who cares, both are awesome watches! :-)

Apparently some people cannot understand my thread. I have declared the black dial Daytona to be more legible than the white dial. Soooooooooooooo, I don't know why we are till debating this....................
