Who likes the DJ?

a/k/a "The Texas Timex"

Not me, even though I added this '67 to my collection last year. I have worn it exactly once.

Because they are that plentiful in Texas, mate. And they really are too.

But even though I don't own one, I do like them alot. I will get one from my club when I leave to take over my own place, though I am not in a hurruy to do so. I think it is a classic watch that has definite taste.

In Texas? Maybe.

Go to sleep, you need your rest to deliver the goods.

OK, now that we're back to the topic I'd say it's a mood thing for me. Some days I'm happy to wear mine, but for most part the SD sits best on me.

Equally, if not more, infamous than Texas Timex is the DJ's association with wealth in Asian culture. The TT or 18K DJ is virtually synonomous with the old Chinese hawker, who's made his fortune selling fried noodles by the roadside (and evading criminal amounts of tax), and now enjoys lounging about in a ratty singlet, one leg up on the seat of his chair, contentedly picking an offending morsel from behind his gold tooth while contemplating his Mercedes.

Considering I'm 34, don't sell noodles, won't admit to evading tax, still have my natural teeth, drive a Honda and prefer to floss, the DJ for most part just isn't me.

Love the classic styling and shape of the DJ, especially the newer style cases...now if only Rolex put the DJ on a high protein diet to expand laterally to at least 38~39 mm, all would be solved!!

I love them! My first Rolex was a SS DJ. Have two now and have been thinking about someday adding one of the new updated models.

TT DJ was the first Rolex I fell in love with.

I really do love them, they are great watches.

The sports Rolexes are nice too, but having each, it is a great way to mix things up.

I like the Datejust. I have two -- including one in the new style, and I'll probably buy a SS version of the new model if I can get it at the right price.

Dammit, I was just about to post that... and then I see you beat me to the punch!

BTW, I quite like the DJ's looks. If it was 39 or 40mm... I'd really want one.
