Looking for a new strap for my 512, but the options from Panerai are limited for the 42mm size. Any suggestions for non Panerai brands?

Check out strapfreak. They seem to have a nice selection of straps for 42mm PAMs. Happy hunting.

For now I went with this. $35 at my local jeweler. Not too bad for the money.

plenty of brands are out there but you may need a special order though for a 42mm case
Dirk/Simona/ABP all sure can do that, GL
