18238 Day Date Gen or Not?

I'm looking to purchase this watch and am supposed to wire funds tomorrow. My gut tells me this is gen, but I still would like some other eyes to look it over. The watch includes an original fluted bezel along with an aftermarket diamond one. Thank you for your opinions.

So at the above of my wife, I was going to walk away from this watch. However, the gentleman selling the watch sent me movement pictures and all looks right to me. What do you think?

The hallmarks don't look right to me. Could be real but beaten up. Maybe there's a better one out there for you.

Thank you for the reply, after mulling this one over I think I'm going to pass on it. I'm just going to go with one of the trusted sellers here on the forum...

Just to confirm, the wire was sent this afternoon. It was in the amount of $5179.57 US quick according to the bank will be £3500 after conversion. My only concern now is the shipping into the states as I was unaware that rolex forbids it. I'm going to speak with a friend in France who is coming to the us later this month. I may have to ship it there to be on the safe side! I'll let you know tomorrow at some point where to ship. Thanks again!

ok let me know never had a problem shipping to USA before easiest way is just to declare it as a watch and not a rolex and put a low value on it so no import tax or customs duty let me know I will tell you when money hits my account, normally around 3 days.

Does it usually take this long for your bank? The money has been out of my account since Monday afternoon. Can you call your back and inquire about it? I'm starting to worry about this now, most wires I have dine in the past take 24 hours max to credit the receiving account.

Hoping it's going to be here soon, I'm a bit [censored] of as well if I'm honest as thought myself it would have been in my now, I'm hoping it's going to be in soon, no worrys the watch is safe here anyway, will check in the morning and take a picture if it's not in to show you.

I stopped by my bank today and they verified that the wire was transmitted. The bank manage said that of nothing is received by Monday that she will have to escalate the issue. She also confirmed that the longest turnaround time is 4-5 days, which would be today. Let me know in Monday if the deposit shows, if it doesn't they may have to recall the wire and retransmit, whatever that means. This is turning into a headache, I could have flown to the UK by now and picked it up in person. Hopefully it shows by Monday and we can get it shipped out to me.

Ok let's get both sides here. The funds were wired and rejected by the sellers bank. It took several days for the funds to credit to my account. My bank never notified me until I saw the credit and once again inquired about the wire. At that point the bank informed me that it was rejected by the receiver and returned. They advised me that a fraud investigation was initiated by the fraud department, on my account. This is the point at which I stopped speaking with the seller as I decided it was no longer a good idea to go ahead with any further dealings.

The seller requested proof of the wire, which I was ready to provide. However, I hadn't noticed that all my vital details were on the receipt, including my ssn, since this was an international wire. It also included my account number, mailing address, and signature. All things that I would rather not provide to some random person on the Internet. It was hard enough to decide to blindly send 5k in the first place.

And I have spoken to the seller and did inform him of all these details. If more details need to be brought to light then so be it. I'm still not sure how this guy thinks I was trying to con him, not sure what I would have to gain. It's not like he would have sent the watch prior to receiving the money. If anyone had anything to lose it was me the whole time, I'm actually glad that the wire was rejected as I no longer have to worry about this particular watch.

If there are any further questions, by all means ask away!

Your a liar! The first time I've heard about this was on this forum, you clearly say on 31st March you were not going to send , I've spoken to my bank and they know nothing about a failed transfer ? And why would they as you have never sent itm you have still not replied on the other forum ao why continue lying? Your not to be trusted simple as that I have over 50 completed deals on that forum where I'm well respected, the same cannot be said for you goodbye.

where else can you find a genuine solid gold day date with an after market 18kt diamond bezel with over 2 kts of diamonds for £3,500? and its a 18238 quick set not older model.

I cannot see anything here other than the seller being strung along.

Millions of bank transfers done a day and very easy to prove it has been sent without all your personal details being shown........Buyer has not proven it was sent and is in the minute percentile of transfers that get recalled........

Many thanks for your kind words that's exactly how I felt, and because of being strung along I lost a genuine sale to a buyer in Denmark who has since bought another watch.
