Flipped my 114060...

About a month and a half back I decided I was bored with my 114060 so I sent it packing to a very happy new owner. I've regretted it ever since, in fact it's the only flip I've made that I really wish I didn't do.

I was toying with the idea up picking up another one to fill the void, but with an upcoming wedding I just couldn't justify the additional cost. Fast forward to Tuesday. The guy I sold it to contacted me and said he had to sell it for personal reasons and wanted to know if I wanted it back. I quickly flipped a Planet Ocean I had to offset some costs, and wired him the money last night! He only wore it a handful of times and it's pretty much in the same condition as it was when it left me.

I'ts currently at FedEx out in Vancouver, and it will be back in my hands tomorrow around lunch time. I'm super happy to get my first Rolex back. I shouldn't have let it go to begin with, and I won't be making that mistake again.

Nice story! Glad your watch is coming home, and congrats on the wedding. Now let's hope not to see a thread titled "Flipped my Planet Ocean" in a couple months! ;)

The prodigal watch returns! We all have had seller's remorse from time to time and you are really lucky to have gotten this pre-loved watch back. Show it some much deserved love now and make up for lost time. Congrats on the watch and your upcoming wedding!

I've done that before only to sell again! Some of us don't learn their lessons.

Hold on to it!

What a stroke of luck! Now wear the watch for your wedding so in case you want to flip it again, you may rethink that decision based on sentimental reasons. LOL Well...that could work. LOL LOL

Congratulations on getting your watch back & the upcoming wedding. :-)

Good decision to buy that back. That watch is the modern evolution of what a Rolex is and should be.

Wear it for your wedding and make sure it's exposed on some of the wedding photos. That will load it with sentimental value so you'll never sell it again !!!!

That's awesome! I think we've all flipped watches, only to regret our decision down the road. I'm happy for you that you were able to get it back. Just a suggestion, get your wedding date engraved on the back and wear it for the ceremony, You'll never want to sell it again. Congrats on your wedding, may God bless you both with good health, prosperity and happiness!

Congrats on getting your Sub back and on your upcoming wedding. I'm sure it means more to you to have your actual watch back instead of a same model replacement.

The 114060 is tremendous. I'm a huge Sea-Dweller fan, and have been tempted to flip it to get a 116600, but I think I like the 114060 more. It doesn't get any better in terms of modern Rolex IMO.

I flipped my 2 yr old SubC recently with the same reservations you had. I knew it was a bad decision. Just bought a new one from DavidSW to ease my pain. I will not flip this one

Glad it worked out. That does not happen often. Just make sure you hang on to it this time. The 114060 is an amazing watch. It should be part of every collection.

Thanks everyone. I definitely learned my lesson (I hope). I'll have to take some shots after I size it up tomorrow when it comes in.

It's almost like my foolishness was erased when this came full circle.
