Thoughts… 116610LN to 16610LV
So I been wearing my new SubC 116610 day and night for about a week and it really is a gorgeous watch! But, I keep looking at the 16610V (green bezel black dial) sub. When I was shopping for my first Rolex I saw a mint pre-owned anniversary sub and was in shock at how nice the black on green looked. Also, the 16610LV is a tad more rare in the wild and may set you apart from other Rolex owners. Then again I love the upgraded clasp, ceramic bezel, and lume on my brand new 116610LN. Its so hard!
So my question is: Since this will be my only Rolex for quite a long time, would it be more reasonable to keep my brand new 116610LN as it may be more versatile for clothing and any occasion OR trade/sell it for a 16610LV? Input from owners of both would be greatly appreciated. |

It's a great watch I had one. I'd keep what you have or consider the 116610lv

The LV is great but I'd stay with the 116610.

I don't have the anniversary edition but got the subc LV and LN. The LV does look that bit extra special

I'd make the switch, esp with Summer coming, then flip back to the black Subc for winter.

I would keep the new one or go to the new LV, just the clasp alone is so much better

I did just that. Went from a 116610LN to a 16610LV. Five months later I went back to the 116610LN

Don't swap. Add.
The Subc is a fabulous watch, and I wear mine daily. Unless I wear my D serial Coke GMT. Some days I wear both. The difference between them is huge, and I like aspects of the old oyster bracelet, and the new one. The old style fits one's wrist very well ( 7 1/4 inch ) and it wears "lighter". But the new latch - it's like closing the hatch on a battleship, or closing the action on a Mauser rifle. It sounds like "I'm ready". One isn't really better than the other, just different, and you should experience both over time. So add the anniversary Sub, or a GMT, when you can, to the Subc, which I think you should keep. Especially as you've only owned it for such a short time. |

Minty, complete Anniversary LV's will get more difficult to find and pricing will also go up. The new ceramics will be around.

Keep what you have. Down the road, get an LV and put a subc bracelet on it.

Looks like the consensus is to keep the 116610LN.
Maybe I'll add later instead of flip. Damn these watches it's my first one and I'm thinking about what to add or flip or should I save for an exploer II to put on a NATO. My wife is starting not to like this forum! Haha |

Go for the 16610 LV. A much better balanced design.

Stick with what you have. Flipping can be a slippery slope, plus I would not go back to the old clasp and bracelet. Save and add is a better strategy.

keep your watch, do some research and learn how to remove your bezel, and buy this green one so you can switch back and forth!

I did exactly what you are talking about... 116610LN (random serial black ceramic submariner) to 16610LV (M serial green steel submariner), and a year later I still would not consider trading back.
Only thing is if you are considering doing this, make sure you find a very good condition example that is either unpolished or correctly polished with a band that has as little wear as possible. The green insert with black dial is definitely usable as a everyday watch. The only problem I have with mine is a like it too much that I need to buy another watch that isn't as unique so I don't beat it up because they are getting harder to find in good condition. |

Go for hulk. The green dial looks black at times. It has so much play in it. One of Rolex best dials IMHO. Not the true LV anniversary, but a cool watch with modern features.

The band is just as nice and comfortable as the new glidelock if you get one that has been taken care of (washed occasionally) Both new and classic are really nice, which is why i said best option is to try for both. But if I could have only one (and currently do) it would be the classic LV sub for sure |

Shorty... You're right in person the later 16610LV has a nice deep green.
I think I'll keep my LN for now and try to add the LV later on. That LV just really pulls on my heart stings! |
