New Diver caseback on older models?

Guys,

I just saw the first new style Diver up in the for sale section and it made me wonder if it will be possible to get the new caseback on an old Diver? Anyone know if this is possible?

Well the original Nautilus model had metal case back but I'm very happy to be able to see the beautiful movement...

Considering that the serial number is engraved on the caseback, I don't see how it would be possible. No mfg would want to assign a new serial number to a watch as it would jeopardize traceability.

Look at the bright side .... The dial of the original is nicer, plus the additional shock and magnetic resistance.

Looks like the same dial as the ceramic, which lost the glossy, wet effect.

I saw it in person and I guarantee that dial is 100% as my ceramic Diver.
Btw, you can see it in this sale thread => http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=407583

Saw the thread and have both ceramic and ss divers. Just wasn't 100% from the pic, which is why I wanted to see it first. If they changed it its a shame. I understand why it is more matte on the ceramic (given how shiny the entire case can be) but it worked on the ss.

Agree with this. It just worked on the SS.

What I thought is they wanted to make something different (on wrist) as I really don't wanna believe that's a business strategy.
But I still prefer the precedent glossy dial ;-)
