Renderings vs real life

Has anyone seen an AP that looks gorgeous in the renderings or stock photos only to be disappointed when seeing it in real life?

On the flip side has an AP ever caught your eye at the boutique that you never noticed in the catalogue or website because it didn't stand out?

On pics I like a lot the 15400 blue dial, was very disappointed when I saw it in real...

Way better in person. I thought the Royal Oak was ugly in photos, but once I tried one one, I was blown away.

Better in person. There are a few members here (Benlee comes to mind, chiefly because his enablement photos hooked me on the two APs I own, lol) whose photos can do them justice but many photos, including the stock photos from AP, do not.

The AP ROO Novelty in SS.

Didn't really notice it in the pictures. However, had in on my wrist the first day I saw one in the boutique. Absolutely blew me away.

The 26470 in rose gold yellow dial.

Amazing in person, not so great in the photos.

There is no render that can show depth and textures of the dial...

Agreed on the quality of the dial. Definitely worth going to a boutique and breaking out a loupe if you get the chance.

And there is no way a rendering can do justice to how the 15400 silver dial handles light. To me, that dial is incredibly dynamic in person.

The pics drove me to buy mine and I still never tire of crispy RO pics. Anyway, the real deal is always best.

Visit your first AP ad at your own risk. I recommend cutting your cc in half beforehand.
