My first AP -- the new 15710 ST Diver

Happy to join the AP family. Been considering an AP for a while -- but wasn't sure which one and finally pulled the trigger when on a business trip in Hong Kong at an AD there.

Just got back and only time for a quick iPhone pic -- but looking forward to learning more about the watch. I am already thinking about getting a bracelet for it as I've seen some of the other pics in this forum with the Diver on a bracelet and it looks great!

Does AP make a bracelet to fit this new model with the sapphire caseback?
If so -- will any ROO bracelet fit? And how hard is it to change the strap?

Thanks,
Ed

Congrats! Beautiful choice.

Steel bracelet fits all the 42 mm ROOs including the Diver. I've done this recently and have been very happy with it. You will need the proper screwdrivers (1.8 mm or 2.0 mm for the case, 1.4 mm for bracelet links assuming you will take a link or two off), hairdryer (bracelet links are very tight and heat loosens the Loctite), Loctite 222 (so that the screws don't back out due to everyday wear/vibrations), and a bit of care/patience.

Enjoy!

Very cool, congrats, I am not very AP, much more Patek, but there are a few pieces I like from AP, the Jumbo and ceramic diver being the 2 I prefer, but the SS is very nice also

Nice! Did you happen to get it at the AP boutique in central (queens road)?
I saw one there late last week and was pretty surprised that they had it already

Nicely done! Congrats!

Out of sheer curiosity, why buy it in HK? Strong dollar? Better discount?

I was staying at the W Hotel in Hong Kong and there is an AP boutique in the Elements Mall connected to the hotel -- that is where I first saw it. But ended up buying at the AD on Canton Road.

I was staying at the W Hotel in Hong Kong and there is an AP boutique in the Elements Mall connected to the hotel -- that is where I first saw it. All they could do was offer me 16% off MSRP since it's just a new piece.

Thought about it and then went to the AP website and saw there must be about 25 AP ADs in Hong Kong alone. The third one I went to had one in stock and was able to do a deal for 25% off MSRP plus no tax in Hong Kong.

Thought it was fair considering it's a new piece and at the lower end of the ROO family so less discounting. Deciding between this and the new Black/Red ROO and just decided to pull the trigger.

Hopefully I didn;t overpay too much as I have not been tracking current AP street prices. i had heard some people got 37.5% off MSRP a few years ago on some AP pieces -- from a forum post a few years ago etc.
