Daytona on a 7.1" wrist
Ok so I generally like the look of the Daytona and I've tried it on many many times, but I always feel it's too small on my 7.1" wrist... Is it just me or is it small on this wrist size? I don't have a picture atm, but I'm sure the Daytona owners out there who know they're wrist size can tell.
I feel the sub is a perfect size in my wrist, not to small, not too big. I know I know the sub & Daytona are both 40mm, but the sub fits bigger on the wrist due to the wider lugs and chunkier feel |

The Daytona wear smaller. I own both and I can tell. I have a 6.5" wrist.

All my rolex are 39mm and look absolutely fine on my 8.5" wrist, half the reason I don't like my Tudor chrono is the 42mm and height of it. Edit:- Its not that I don't like my Tudor Chrono, it just gets no wrist time compared to the Daytona |

Personal preference - there's no right or wrong answer.
Personally I also find the Daytona too small. Bear in mind that its true diameter is less than 39mm.

There was a recent (few months ago) thread about this - measured with callipers, the Daytona's case is around 38.5 mm. I'll see if I can find the thread. The old SD and Exp II were ~39 mm, but Rolex rounded up the advertised size to 40mm. AFAIK the current models are true to the advertised size.

7.1 isn't big at all for a wrist, plus the Daytona is plenty flashy, so, I would think it would be perfect for you.

It wears smaller than any other Rolex sport model.
Rolex needs a bigger Daytona II in their catalog. |

As for OP, the daytona wears too small on my 7 1/4 wrist too and I wouldnt have it. If I want a chrono will go with Speedmaster as its size and styling is bang on.

I had the same issue and my wrists are 7.8 or so. The veterans are quite correct in my opinion- it's not too small, it is solely a matter of what one conditions themselves to believe. My interest in watches is only a few months old and as it evolves, I am coming to appreciate the sleeker profile of a "smaller" watch as well as the wrist presence of a larger piece. I'm not quite ready for a 36mm number but would not balk at a Daytona if it caught my eye.

I had this dilemma originally when I bought a white SS Daytona and flipped it. My wrist is about 7 5/8. Since then I began to miss the Daytona again as well as the fact I began to wear a vintage SD which wears smaller than a Sub C. It's all relative and what your used to. I have since acquired a WG Panda Daytona which is now my favorite and doesn't seem small on the wrist (the weight might be part of that) Anyway, if you think 40mm looks small and goofy - it doesn't. In fact I put on my only remaining Panerai the other day which had been put away for a while and I couldn't believe how big it seemed and it is a 44mm model! I used to have a 422 - would love to throw a 47mm on the wrist now.... It's all relative... Daytona is an awesome watch

My wrist is 7", and I believe the Daytona to be perfect size. It is all what you condition yourself to believe to either wear large or small. There would be a great number of watches to go to the chopping block before my Daytona.

My wife once walked in the room wearing my Daytona and asked "How does your watch look on me?" Fearful of losing my daily wearer, I threw caution to the wind and replied, "It makes your ass look big." Got my watch back. Truth be told...she looked great with it on.

Lol. Im surprised she didnt slap u for that comment. To the op, i have 7 half wrist n wear 36 mm DD all the time. Never once felt they r too small. I cant imagine a 40mm would look small a 7 wrist no matter how it was designed. Maybe its just u. But wear whatever makes u happy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Gold Daytona models have a slightly larger case correct?
