Rolex end links

I have seen a few older sport model Rolex's with holes in the case lugs with bracelet end links that have the notch to remove the spring bars. From what I understand end links with the notch would be used on newer models without the holes in the lugs. Is it correct to see a bracelet end link with access to the the spring bars on watches with the holes in the lugs?

Are you asking if there is something wrong with slotted endlinks on pierced lugs ? If so, the answer is no, they are a suitable and common replacement.

If you are asking if it came from the factory like that, probably not, but there is always overlap with Rolex when they change anything..

"correct" is an ambiguous term.

I gues my question also is.....
I know the modern solid end links are slotted, but
did Rolex make slotted end links in the 1980's on hollow end links?

Rolex made slotted stamped end-links - they are plentiful. On the 40mm (case) Jubilees, for example, slotted 502T mate to the 16xxx cases stamped with T. The change to SELs began in the 80's/90's

Modern solid end links did not come slotted initially A, U, and P serials still carried the pierced lugs and used non-slotted SEL endlinks. You need to look out for those bracelets because if you put them on a non-pierced watch, they won't come off..

Thanks! I learn something new here everyday!
