What is Mark Mk. ???

Can someone explain when people say they have a Mk. II or Mk. III watch what they are talking about? I used to think it was a special dial type, but now I see someone in the sales corner selling a DRSD with Mk. III?

Thanks TRF.

So Mk is just a variation of a given dial then? Any dial could essentially be Mk if it had variations to it.

Thanks. I'm not particularly interested in a DRSD, I just want to understand what Mk. means. I think I have it now.

A Mk. is like a version number of a given watch where the dial is slightly different. One might say that the 16610 has a Mk I dial for the flat S and a Mk II dial for the rounded S.

You got it!

The "MK" designation is used to describe various Rolex dial variations. Not just of the DRSD, but also of the "Zenith" Daytonas and Subs. As an example, here is one about the 5513 dials.
