My buddy is searching for his family after flood...

Guys please pass this along to everyone you know in the Texas Hill country. A friend of mine and his family were swept away in last night's flood in Wimberley, Tx.

He was found and is in a hospital in San Antonio. His family has not been heard from. We are praying they are in another hospital somewhere. If you know anyone in the area, please send this link to them. Maybe someone knows something.

And please pray that he's reunited with his family. They are good people.

My prayers are with you.

I was just reading about Wimberley.

That's a terrible thing.

That's terrible! My prayers are sent for a quick discovery with no injuries. My sister lives in Ennis and she said it's mind-boggling with all the storms/rain/tornadoes/floods. etc.

My buddy is searching for his family after flood...

Today was a long day of searching with many friends and family along the river (I think there are 60+ of us out here). We got some more rain today but all searchers stayed safe.

We have a few helicopters in the air, with more going up tomorrow. Oddly enough, the family dog was found alive and well in the top of a large tree earlier today (spotted by helicopter); keeping hope alive.
Please keep prayers/kind thoughts coming.

Just saw the family's story on NBC and hoping for best. Valiant efforts by responders, searchers and volunteers like yourself.

These stories take on a special focus when friends/family members share a connection we wouldn't otherwise see. Thanks for sharing in the midst of the tragic flooding and good luck!

My buddy is searching for his family after flood...

So today was a very long day. Spent the morning walking several miles of river picking through huge debris piles. The water moccasins are out and they are p***ed off at being recently evicted from their homes.

Our group had 13 helicopters in the air today, and about 100 more people on the ground. (For you helo guys in the audience, they were mostly R44s). It's safe to say these families are loved by our community.

Got into a helicopter after lunch and flew a good portion of the debris field along the river--about 40 or so miles of it. Can't begin to put the level of devastation and sheer violence of this flood into words. Entire houses were simply removed from their slabs and ground up into plate-sized pieces; 100 year old trees with 8 foot trunks were snapped at their base like match sticks.

The authorities are apparently finding remains, but as of now (approx midnight my time), we don't know if these are our guys or not. I assume we might hear something in the morning. Gotta go to bed so we can get up and start over again in the AM.

Keep the prayers for peace for these (and other!) families coming, please. We aren't the only people missing people.

Here in the Hill Country the storms have been something else.
We never have tornado touch down and the other day there were three within 15 miles of my house.

Lots of schools in the area collecting all kinds of things for the people up and down the Blanco river. Some say it's the worst flood since 1929.

Thx for all the thoughts and prayers.

This is a horrible tragedy that has unfolded. Mother Nature gives and she will take from time to time as well.

Godspeed on finding your friends and neighbors.

My buddy is searching for his family after flood...

Well, yet another long day on the river. Not much progress to report. We still have a bunch of volunteers on the search. People go home and others show up to replace them. I continue to be encouraged by the humanity shown by friends and strangers both.

We have some light rains headed our way (radar pic from a few minutes ago). Hopefully it's moving fast and will pass us quickly.

Back at it tomorrow. And I admit I'm using this thread to vent. Wish I had positive news to share. We recognize this is a recovery effort; we just want to get our people some closure.

Thank you guys for the continued kind words from friends and strangers alike. Means more than you know.
