Wayne Carini

Why does a piece of stale Stilton at the back of my fridge has more personality, more interest, more enthusiasm and more panache than Wayne Carini.

Sorry to Carini fans but he has the charisma of a mouldy piece of cheese.

Wayne is not exactly a "high energy" guy, you're right about that. However, I rather like the show. The cars are the stars though, not Wayne.

He didn't get the job for his personality, which may seem counter-intuitive for TV but remember Velocity isn't a real network. He got the job because of his vast network of clients and industry insiders. I kind of like the show because there is no professional talking head. My biggest issue with Wayne is he has zero sense of humor, absolutely zero. However if he suddenly started to yuck it up it would come off fake. I watch the show for the cars and he has some great vehicles on his show for sure!

As mentioned he's not a Richard Rawlings . . . who is just the opposite

Now to be honest Fast n Loud is ok but guess I am overloaded with this car show
What will come out of Richard closet next time . . . ?

On the other hand I have never ever seen Wayne making money on a car

He always shoots a high number but the car is or not sold or at a sum that is considering less than what he had in mind

Suppose that his clients pay him pretty well to travel around to the auctions . . . ;)

Anyway Wayne does always finds nice cars and I would love to own a bunch of them . . .

lol, Carini is one of the blue blazer Connecticut types that plays on the laws of the Breakers and Pebble Beach, probably drinks an old fashion and wears sandals with black socks.

They never discuss what they paid for anything on the show because they are better than us and it's none of our business, I guess.

My favorite car show is Wheeler Dealer, just saying...

I just love his commitment to the US tradition of blue jeans and white sneakers....... just made for television.

In fact, I like that the show really isn't about him and him doing stupid acting for the camera. Dry personality or not, I like the show for what it is, quests for cool cars.

I like the show as well because it doesn't have a bunch of fluff and bs like virtually every other automotive show. Putting an annoying personality in front of the main dish, the cars, is like plating sushi on a tartan plate

I will watch most any car show since the alternative is generally reality TV or some other junk. I have met Wayne at a couple of auctions (in passing) and he is all business but seems to be a cordial enough guy. But an overly outgoing personality is not his thing.

He is however incredibly connected and that is where his "value" is derived.

He gets calls before anyone else about barn finds, Ferrari's or Dino's because he knows what he's doing, he's professional, and he's not full of chit. If my uncle died with a Bugatti in the shed and I wanted it treated correctly plus I wanted to get my aunt top dollar for husbands asset I'd call Wayne. And that's why cameras follow him around. It's not a classice version of Top Gear, it's the opposite of that which I like.

It's his business, it's all he does, and he puts those relationships, deals and customers before everything else, even the show. Could it be a better show, could it be more entertaining, sure but I don't care one bit, I want to see those dusty relics and one-off customs that no one else gets to see!

Best episode ever for me was when he threw a temper tantrum at pebble beach since he forgot his pass and had to detail his car for the show...leaving the rental car there in the event entrance traffic with the rent-a-cop who wouldn't allow him in. Amazing the director didn't edit this out, made him seem like a childish 2 year old IMHO and a self-centered jerk, blocking the entrance for other, less important attendees. Not that we all don't have our moments, but it really didn't vote well for him in my book.

The show is great, I'm amazed at how they can restore these old cars to like new. I'm not a mechanical guy and respect restorer's work and craftsmanship. Wayne is not a huge personality but think about the stories that guy has to tell. I would love to have his job.

I thought Wayne was a cool guy, until I read some shocking things on Roger Barr's Facebook page.

The 82-year-old mechanic is facing a work-related illness and does not get support from Wayne. A fan has started a donation campaign to help him with medical bills.

This is very sad. To whom it may concern:

I'm sorry to hear this and wish Roger well, he is one of the few people on the show that DOES have a personality

It is true wayne has no real personality. That is OK though. The cars and their owners are the real stars of the show.

Wayne is just the vehicle to move us around in the circles many of us don't travel in to see the locations, cars and people.

Rather enjoy the show and Tevo it so I never miss an episode.

I love the show. He gets some really interesting cars and he is passionate about them I love to see that.

Iron Resurrection is probably my favorite though at the moment. Those guys make some really cool cars.

You want to talk about a car show host with absolutely zero charisma? John Davis of Motorweed is just awful. I think the teleprompter has more charisma. I'd give Matt LeBlanc a solid second place in the zero charisma category.

I love the show. My favorite car was the light blue 275 Ferrari 4 cam that Wayne sold to the couple for 2 million i think it was. What a beautiful vintage Ferrari. It had a shark mouth and gill type vents on the sides.

Why would they edit this out? It’s drama. It’s a producer’s dream. Plus it’s called ‘scripted.’ Love the show!!

Ugh, I can't stand the "main guy" on that show. I would probably like the car restoration aspect of the show, but I can't watch him.
Typical case of "short guy syndrome", overcompensating for his insecurities by being obnoxious and abusive. Pass.

Spot on. I watch the show but can’t do more than a couple of episodes back to back. Those marathon days are a bit much

I like the show. Wayne is very factual and the cars/narration are top notch.
Want to hate a show? Check out Fantomworks. Overreacting. Overpriced. Emotional. Dramatic.

Great show, but Carini is a real stick in the mud personality wise.
