SeaDweller Diver's extention question.

I been wearing my SD4K for about a month now with the divers extension. I heard many people remove them. Is it a compromise when wearing them? Do anyone else wear theirs with or should I remove it. Thanks!

I will be removing mine too, from the construction of it, removing it looks safe.

I've found that removing it makes for a more comfortable fit.

Definitely recommend removal. Easy enough to put it back on if you change your mind.

Anyone have a picture they can post? Why is the diver extension necessary in the first place?

I understand that, I guess I just wonder how much adjustment is left with the braclet, once the diver extension link is removed

Plenty of adjustability left and additional links are cheap.

I removed it on my DSSD and the difference was night and day!! I found it was far more comfortable without it. No pics, but worth trying!!

Interesting .... What makes it more comfortable? Does it have to do with the glidelock claps being longer?

I removed mine and it fits great. Much better than with it. Just get the appropriate screwdriver and loctite if you do it yourself. Or take to an AD.

The extension is fairly long Brian, so when it is removed the links never seem to stick out of the clasp like they do with the extension in. So when you adjust in or out there is more flexibility. This makes the watch lay better on the wrist, or at least what I found.

Is it uncomfortable now with the diver's extension?

Especially with smaller wrists, removing the diver's extension really helps with making the bracelet overall more flexible and hence more comfortable. Otherwise, there's a significant section of the overall loop that is solid/inflexible. On my DSSD, was a significant improvement in fit and comfort removing the diver's extension.

Agree, and a must for a good fit for the DSSD

Perfect description, Steve. That's exactly what I found, too. So I removed it from my SDc immediately.

That link is an incredible piece of design. I'm keeping mine on as it's part of the soul of the watch.

Same here - it was my first experience of the new style bracelet which is a great piece of design and engineering, but it definitely feels better with the dive extension off. Seems like a lot of people have done this?

I dive as well... it's a simple job to reinstall it. Literally takes me a few minutes. However I wear the SDc outside of the water more than I do in the water.

Read all the descriptions of how removing the extension is supposed to increase comfort but just don't see it.

My wrist is about 7.25". The only part of my SDc that I would consider uncomfortable is the crown which occasionally digs into the back of my hand. But, any watch I wear with the crown at the 3 o'clock position does the same.

Removing the extension doesn't help that.

Other than that one issue the watch is comfortable.

So, for me, it stays . . .

I have not removed mine yet, just once removed would the inner part of clasp scratch the links? Just a thought.

My pleasure Brian!! My AD was actually shocked at the difference. I am sure it will eventually become a selling point for them down the road as it is easy to take out and put back in

I too have removed the extension for comfort but added additional links due to my late wrist size and for diving as well.
