Help on purchase of a new gold Rolex
Hi guys,
I'm fairly new to the Rolex forums, but have been fascinated with Rolex for as far as I could remember. I'm Turning 23 at the end on the month and I'm thinking of going all out on my next purchase. Having said that I have a two watch collection right now (gmt master 2 ceramic and an older date just two tone) not familiar with references so I will add photos. --So far I narrowed it down to 3 pieces and I would like to get your opinions. 1. Rose gold Daytona black dial with gold sub dials on bracelet - really like this piece just afraid Rolex will add the ceramic bezel in the near future 2. Yellow gold sky dweller champagne dial on bracelet 3. The new day date 40 yellow gold champagne dial Roman numerals Your input would greatly be appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Daytona, give your age. I would challenge to look at all options though including YG Newman dial and white gold. At your age and in RG people might think you were rocking a Michael Kors..... then again that might be the stealth you are happy with.

I wouldn't do a RG Daytona at your age.
Maybe diversify and look at the AP 15202 or PP 5711. Does seem like you have the budget, and you do already own two beautiful Rolexes. Just an idea! |

Don't worry about the ceramic coming for the Daytona. Personally I would rather have more gold with an all gold bezel than less gold for (most likely) more money. Plus I like the one colour look of the Daytona, just shame it doesn't have a date. The sky dweller is a big watch. Make sure you have tried it on. Probably the flashiest model you listed. The DD40 I haven't seen in person but from the pics I don't like it. To me the DD and DJ don't work in the larger sizes. They should be 36mm or nothing. Gold colour gold watches aren't my thing personally. White gold or platinum is the way I would go if I had the budget for PM. Have you considered this option or do you like the look of gold personally?

Love the RG with black dial but love the ceramic too so that is probably my next watch. As for the ceramic coming out on the bracelet well we've been waiting for a few years now so I wouldn't let that put you off.
I think you are too young for a DD, you need to have at least 100 posts here first. |

AGE, forget all about AGE.
That Daytona is the pick of the bunch.

First of all, those are two great looking watches you own...are you adding to them or replacing them with your purchase. If you're adding to them, the DD40 makes more sense...if you're replacing then maybe the SKD or the Daytona.

I'd say daytona for all the reasons mentioned. Have you considered yellow gold or anything with a white dial?

Yellow gold - narrowed it down to these two. If I do go for a day date40 I'd do Romans.
