PCL -> BCL in PA area

Anyone know a spot in the PA area (center city) that will brush my PCL?

You might try National Watch on 8th and Chestnut. Can't vouch for the quality of work, have only looked at some of their pieces in the past.

Try National Watch Company or many jewelers located on Jewelers row (8th Walnut / 8th Market area)

PLEASE NOTE: I have never used them for anything, but give them a call

Jay Roberts is on Route 73 in Marlton NJ (About 15 from the Ben Franklin Bridge) Their work is top notch and I'm sure they would do it.... Question, are you sure you want to do it?

Call Bernie Robbins in st David's, ask for Gad. They brushed one of my bracelets in a matter of an hour or two.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just check out Naional Watch. Very nice guy and was quoted $25. He was a little unsure if the region around the crown on the clasp will be brushed. Any ideas on what Ivan tell him? Also, Do people usually brush the sides of the links as well?

Glad you have a lead to get the work you want done. I would only polish the PCLs and would leave the sides of the links polished since keeps close to a factory look. Good luck. Post pics if you go forward.

Thanks again! Do you think there will be a difference in quality between a Rolex authorized dealer charging $150+ than an unauthorized 3rd party? His price of $25 seems really cheap, almost too good to be good quality work! lol

Brushing the links is very easy to do. Some fine grit sand paper like 400 wet will work or you can use a scotc bright pad. I have polished and brushed finish watch bands many times. It's really not as hard or difficult as you might think. If you are interested I can explain in detail.

I would inquire as to the experience / qualifications of the person performing the work. Brushing PCLs is pretty basic. I think an experienced person would have no trouble doing it. In this case, I think a store that deals in resell like National might actually be better suited than an AD focused primarily on new items unless they have a qualified watchmaker / custom jeweler in house. National must have to work on a lot of their inventory to prepare it for sale to get top dollar.

I had an AD brush my GMT and was done at no charge. We left the sides of the case, links and clasp polished. Of interest, I went to two ADs in the same area. One refused to do it citing "Rolex policy". As for the area around the crown on the clasp, yes the brushing cannot be complete but it looks fine. Overall I was quite pleased with the outcome and glad I decided to go BCL.

I called them on (I believe) Clark's recommendation before, and they said they would do it. It wasn't "cheap," and if I remember correctly, the turnaround time would be a few days.

It might be a bit of a drive, but Bixker's in Allentown did mine for free.
