Rolex for 11yr son...?

Hi
I have a son of 11 years has been somewhat infected by my interest in watches. He has on a few occasions tried an explorer 1, 39mm and that suits him fine, he's a big boy ;-)
I have now found a good deal on an Explorer 1 from 2014 and consider buying it to myself to lend him the weekends and so on. We live in Denmark and it is not particularly well-regarded that children have rolex watches and I will not give it to him until he is 18 years old. Have I completely lost my mind or is the general shenanigans from a watch freak and ok?

Greetings
Alexander
