Icon10 DJ II Fluted Bezel w/ Blue Dial & Batons

116334

I don't post over here often and thought I'd throw one out there since it has been a while. I've been eyeballing this one and have only come across pics on the internet to gauge my overall interest. Maybe I'm incorrect, but it doesn't seem to be an incredibly popular combo for the reference? Not that it matters, but thought I'd field comments from anyone that cares to chime in, or even post pics of theirs . I'm in the market for a blue dial piece and thought this to be an appropriate place for you all to push me over the edge...

Great pick! To me, without the gold bezel that watch could be considered a sport watch. The gold bezel gives it that much needed pop! Buy it and if you don't like it, you can sell it to me......at a big discount. I had the black dial with batons, I loved the dial, but not crazy about the case size.

That is my second choice. I was walking down 5th ave. in NYC and stopped by Wempe to look at the watches. I saw your preference and it looks great but I like the white stick dial more.

Is a beautiful watch! The blue dial is amazing. I have the smooth bezel, but the dial is identical to the fluted version that you're after.

Would have gone that route if I did not have a BLNR.

I have one!

I can safely say it is a darling of this forum. The blue changes colors with the lighting. I like the fluted bezel. It gives it a more formal look. The smooth bezel gives it a more sporty look.

I think it's actually one of the most popular DJ2 combos on this forum. It's a stunner, no doubt. I owned the smooth bezel version for a while, but the wide, smooth bezel just didn't quite sit right with my eye. It's a rather large, wide, mirror polished surface. So I flipped it for the fluted version. I personally think the flutes do more to break up that large smooth surface that I was having trouble liking.

When I get a dress watch to go with my sport watches, it will be this watch. Absolutely magnificent. The flutes go with the stick dial, the blue is radiant, it just works in every way.

Thanks, fellers! Didn't realize there was a liking for this one at all. I thought I was in the minority. Need to check into this side more often i guess.

Not that higher end watches are as commonly seen as I think people on watch sites sometimes imply, but...

I just saw a man with the watch you are looking at in thr NYC subway. It looked great! However, I will saw that fluted bezels wear big and this watch looked big on the somewhat large fellow wearing it. A smooth bezel may suit your wrist, depending. Try both and see!

You won't be disappointed with this watch. Here's a link to my incoming thread, a lot of good positive comments for this particular reference. It's a popular watch.

I'm also thinking of this watch. Hard to decide fluted or domed bezel

IMO, Fluted bezel is best match the jubilee bracelet. Domed is for oyster bracelet. It seems the fluted bezel in oyster bracelet look pretty good.

Blue stick dial with smooth bezel in my favourite DJII.

The fluted bezel is no slouch either. I just think the smooth bezels more casual look suits me bettr

Some great pictures and input. Thanks for helping with my research! I'm heading to Vegas in a few weeks and intend on trying this bad boy on while I'm there...along with several others.
