Thoughts, not sure there is a right or wrong answer
I recently sold my AP15400 because it was just too big, so I sold it and my Bark DD as I got a great deal on Platinum Day Date which I love, effectively a flat swap out.
I knew one day I would come back to an AP RO, but unlike the trend I want to go back to the origins of RO i.e. 36mm with its thin movement, which I think looks great as a dressy sports watch just as my DD is. I just so happen to be sitting in a hotel room in Boston and made the mistake of looking at the site where I have bought a watch in the past here in Boston (yes I live in Sydney). Just figured since I was in town........... I think this watch looks amazing, obviously very rare, so very hard to genuinely price, it looks like it has never been worn the case is immaculate, I think this would have been an original leather band model not sure if this is the original band, may go and look tomorrow (TRYING VERY HARD TO RESIST, WIFE ENABLING ME FROM SYDNEY). Help me TRF........ I am nowhere near the expert on AP that many of you are........ I just like pretty watches!!!! It reminds me so much of the new Gold Yachtmaster but is clearly a lot older and yep it is an AP. It may always be a little harder to sell on particularly living in OZ, compared to my Sub/Aquanaut etc but it is a unique piece. Thoughts, I know you are enablers, and I know a lot of you will trot out 15202 or nothing else... I really don't want to buy it, but it is not the type of watch you would see every day. I did a bit of reading on Tantalum never realised it was so rare (have always like the FPJ Tantalum blue), not to mention most of the Tantalum has been mined in my home country over the years. I have no concerns with European Watch by the way, so not asking to validate the store. Appreciate Gold highlight TT AP's of the vintage don't always get good coin but Tantalum/Rose Gold is different again. http://www.europeanwatch.com/21917.html

If you like it. Not my taste, but as the Romans say, de gustibus.
As a Boston native, I'll say european watch co is overpriced but willing to negotiate. |

Looking at your collection, you appear to like the smaller and thinner watches.
If this will make you happy, go for it!

Albert and the gang at European Watch Company are TOP notch, I've bought and traded MANY watches with them.
That said, if you like it, get it. |

I clicked on the link expecting to find something I wouldn't like. I really like it! Looks like a bargain too. Will the mrs also wear this one? Watchout for that bezel if so

7.25in, have worn 36mm DJ;s and my dress 35mm Piaget so size would not worry me more whether the look works.

You never wear more than 40mm watches? I don't like too big but not too small either, for me 39 to 42mm is my size range, had more, had less but they went away, now extremely happy with my duo, waiting for AP to release a 42mm in RG with ceramic bezel to have my perfect trio, and if possible financially one day add 1 or more of the watches listed in my wish list... You have a nice collection, especially like the PP and ALS, an AP would be a very nice addition indeed and make a very well rounded collection |

Arnaud, I may have 7.25in wrist but I am 5"3 so I don't think 36mm looks small, it is always just your head playing trick having worn my new DD for a few weeks then putting my root beer on for this trip it looks large. I like watches of all sizes but for me 36-40 is the range, the AP always felt too big although my 42mm big block tudor did not so maybe it is style of watch more than anything. FYI have decided to pass on the AP, just not enough lead time or consideration but I love the look. Thanks for the input of TRF.

RG and tantalum is an awesome combo, but it sounds like you need more time/might have regrets?

Hey mate, sorry a bit off topic... How did you sell your watch? I never sold a watch before so I don't know what are the options available out there. I did try the Sydney Vintage Watches in the city, but their offer is just ridiculous :D Any suggestion how to sell a watch here in Oz? |
