Airshow crash RIP
This happened around 2 miles from our house.
A vintage fighter jet tried performing a loop the loop and ended up crashing into the busy A27 dual carriageway RIP to all the family's affected. We where queuing at the traffic lights around 10 mins before the accident occurred as we we heading west down to Southampton, I counted my blessing when I heard it on the radio 10 mins after we had passed through. We had been in standstill traffic at the exact stop for around half a hour because of congestion from people heading into the airshow. RIP http://m.theargus.co.uk/news/1362175...ould_reach_20/ |

Really tragic. The only consolation is that death must surely have been instant for those killed.

Very sad, seemed very low to be pulling that manoeuvre. All them fields and crashed on the road.

Hard to imagine that this was 'pilot error'.
He was ex-RAF Harrier pilot (as I understand it) A witness suggested that the aircraft seemed to lose or lack power to pull out of the loop. Old aircraft....
