Wideboys (comparison pics please)
So I'm noticing one of my DJ markers are a bit thicker than my others. This particular one is my only two toned though so I'm not sure if that why. Hoping someone has some comparison pics side-by-side of the standard sticks vs. wideboy one.
Thanks! Here's the one I was looking at for reference. |

Wideboy... why aren't we capable of just calling one dial thin indices, and the other, thick indices?

Curious why the markers on my 1603 (2nd photo) are thicker on 6 and 9 and the ones on my 1601 (1st photo) seem to all be the same thickness?

You have the Rolex crown at the 12, the date is at 3, 6 and 9 both share extra wide markers. It provides both better symmetry and easier time keeping as your eyes are able to use the wider makers as a reference point for the quarter hour. |

I get that. I guess I'm trying to understand why it's like that on one and not the other. Is it a dial difference between 1601/1603 or TT/SS issue? Just trying to educate myself really.

The difference is by design and was deliberate to offer consumers various choices. It's the same reason why the offer roman numerals and stick markers today, the entire objective is to stimulate sales.
