For your Wife: LNIB or no box no papers?
Hi All,
For a good number of us males, it seems we are perfectly OK with either. For me it's definitely allowed me to stretch my dollar to obtain cool Rolexes in rather short order. How about for your Wife? Is your Wife OK with a pre-loved watch? We're considering a yachtmaster 168623 (35mm) or even a discontinued 169623 (29mm). Looking forward to responses! Thanks! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk |

I got Ann a mint DJ and she was thrilled. She wears it all the time and pretty much thrashed it. Gardening is her favorite trick.

My wife did not care, it allowed us to buy her a nice watch without spending a fortune. She also loves vintage Channel bags so the reality someone has owned does not worry her.

If you would like it, why wouldn't your wife like it? I personally wouldn't go without a box and papers and I would hold my wife's watch to the same standard.
Also OP was asking about LNIB, not NIB. Very different. I can't imagine a situation where I would feel compelled to go NIB if there was a mint like new alternative. -D |

My wife is ok with a pre-owned watch, as long as it's near mint. I'm trying to get one for her early next year for her 30th.

My wife's first Rolex came from an AD, so it had everything. But I told the AD to hold on to the paper work just incase I did the usual thing of picking the wrong gift. A week later she brought it back lol.
She wasn't that impressed with the experience of AD. Now she ready for her 2nd and she could careess less of a box and plastic as long as it mint and she picks it out. I'm ok with that

Many AD's have told me it's very difficult to sell used womens watches because women would rather buy new.

My wife is not wrist aware at all......used. B/p not important as she'll not flip. Just good time keeping is what she expects.

I alway buy brand new for my wife as she is y wife and out up with a lit of my weirdness, of rushing off around the country or flying abroad to collect watches. I personally don't think she would care as she likes the watches.
MY self I have had new, BNIB, and loose and I am happy with that.

In whatever condition she likes is what you should get her. That way she gets it her way.

NIB, always, unless it's a discontinued model either of us particularly want or a family heirloom we've inherited.

LNIB. The. You can use the savings for a nice necklace or bracelet. That's what I would do for my wife and she would love it.
Too bad she is not into watches. I got her a citizen and that's good enough for her. She did not complain though when I bought her a diamond necklace. |

My wife prefers VCA jewelry. That said, it is always new and so were the watches I have bought her. For me, it does not matter new or used.
