MBNA Bank.
MBNA Bank.
These b@st@rds never give up. Every week they send me a couple of pieces of junk mail offering to lend me, a "preferred customer" a shed-load of money at 7.4% APR. FFS, I can walk into any bank in the high street and shave 1.2% off that. Then there are the phone calls, usually when I have just sat down to dinner, "Mr Padi, I am phoning you to save you money" says someone with an Indian or Chinese accent. No you are not you rhubarb, you are trying to sell me money at well over the market rate. I have registered for TPS and the junk mail lot, but, as I have their Platinum Card, (which I never use, I only applied for it some three years ago as they were offering a pair of Seiko watches free). I have had this problem with them until I returned their letters marked Addressee Deceased. Within weeks they started sending letters to "Addressee Deceased" that started Dear Mr Deceased. I then responded with a letter from my fictitious widow complaining of their insensitivity whereupon they started bombarding her with their junk. I finally stopped them by sending an invoice for handling their unsolicited mail and followed that up with a pay within 7 days or I go to court. Their mail have stopped, nothing now for almost 3 weeks but they never paid me the invoice nor did they ever sorry .

I must get 5 or 6 offers from this company every month, both through the mail, and over the phone. What I normally do is take all the crap that comes in the envelope, tear off anything with my name or address on it, and send all the junk back to them using their prepaid envelope that I'm supposed to return my application in.
It certainly doesn't stop their junk mail from coming, but it keeps people like Paul employed, and costs MBNA some money in wasted postage......beauty! |

I used to do the same thing, Al, but got tired of it after a while. Now I just toss the crap.
But what frosts me now are the unsolicited faxes that come in to my home machine. It's a hugh waste of paper. And even though they usually put a fax removal number on them, I think those are bogus numbers because the damned faxes keep coming. When I get one where the idiots have neglected to screen their fax ID, I send a copy of the fax back to them with a few choice obscenities scrawled across the front in bold letters.

I hate the phone calls, all day every day. Trying to sell me a second mortgage, long distance service, credit cards or auto loans. The same companies day in and day out. I signed up for the do not call list, but it doesn't seem to be working very well

My home number is unlisted in the local directory...so I'm saved all these calls. Only some of you actually have my number.
