Anyone here regret SDC4000 purchase?
Still contemplating flipping my sub for a SDC. Just wanted to know if anyone had any negative feedback on the watch. Most on the forum give very positive reviews which is great, but wanted to hear from the other side. Thanks in advance.

Wish I could help you buddy, but I am absolutely loving it more and more with each passing day. This watch not only looks like the classic Sub , but wears Like it too! It's case size and overall dimensions should be the precedent to what new Sub models are built as! It's far more comfortable and can be had for a reasonable price!

Anyone here regret SDC4000 purchase?
I might be able to help.. I was thinking about it, but hey you got wider lugs on the sub C so yeah it will last longer lol.. At least that is what I tell myself..
Sub was my first watch into the high end watch game, so I would like to always keep the sub. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thread title got me worried a bit, thought you were looking for other members in the same boat as you, glad to see I was wrong. I hope to be joining the club soon.

It was way to tall / thick for me, that and a few other differences will keep me in my Sub. It seems like there are a lot of fans of the SD, I don't think you would be disappointed...

I picked up one pretty soon after its release but only held on to it for a few months as I found it just a little to 'flash' at the time, when compared to the SD 16600 I already had. Must admit at this point that I am a bit of a 5 digit Rolex fan. The SDC is a really super watch and to be honest I regret not giving it a little longer before flipping it. Am starting to be drawn back towards getting another in light of the many beautiful photos and great reviews it gets. Have had one in my hand at my AD since so who knows.....? Good luck with whatever you go with!

Is there an official reason for why the bracelet's end links don't line up flush with the lugs? It's been my only pet-peeve with this watch.

its a beauty,
just dont like the dial at all, its a matte dial - but that is a personal thing on the plus, the bezel, glass, the fit, are all better than the sub but for me the dial put me off. its one of those things tho, im not a big fan of matt dials, but over time perceptions change so have a look at it in person and if you dont get that gut feeling then give it a miss and give a chance another time |

I would never flip my sub for a SD4k.
The Dweller is a great watch, but I love the cyclops, the dial and the low profile on the submariner. |

Though I think the SDC is a great watch, to me, the differences between the SubC and SDC aren't compelling enough, and so went with a DSSD. Not sure if you've also considered one of those.
In deliberating SubC vs SDC, in addition to what's been mentioned above: - Raised crystal edge may be more vulnerable - The darker, matte gas escape valve cover clashes a bit with the polished side of the case - The date window on the SDC was designed for use with a cyclops, so looks a bit small and oddly positioned on the dial. While I prefer not having a cyclops, wish Rolex had used a larger calendar wheel with bigger numbers, and positioned the window closer to the edge of the dial. - SDC looks smaller on the wrist |

I personally have yet to hear someone say "Man I should have never bought this Rolex..."
Although I have heard many a TRF'er gripe about letting one go, or not purchasing when they had the chance. I hope that helps your decision. |

No regrets from a SubC Date other than waiting this long to get it.

Sorry, no fuel from me to add to the fire...I love my SD4000 (and my Sub-no date).
The SD4000 is on the oem bracelet, my Sub is usually on a RubberB. |

Here's a shot of my first one - flipped it a year ago and have picked up another, don't know if that helps or hurts...

I can say I love my SDc.
Not as much as I love my 16710 which is pure perfection in my book. The SDc is great, but sometimes I feel it is too heavy and too thick. But then 1 hour later I love that wrist presence... And that extra thickness...

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I guess my main concern is the thickness vs the subc. Any problems with wearing under a cuff?

It is a 15mm thick watch.
It can fit under a truck, a car, but cuffs... My 16710 would, this one doesn't. But the positive side is that the bezel metallic side doesn't come in contact with the cuffs and doesn't wear them out as the 16710 does (not sure I am being clear but English is not my mother tongue at all...).

Best modern tool watch Rolex makes IMO. You won't regret it.
