TNF: Pats v. Steelers thread

Hey ladies and gents. Thought I would start a thread for our pats fans, stiller fans and football fans in general to post their thoughts on the season opener.

I am looking for TB to come out strong and angry seeing as I drafted him across the board. Hopefully the weather doesn't slow him down too much (rain).

I am also looking for A. Brown to get into the pay dirt so basically rooting for a gunslinger shootout

What are your predictions?

You are right.
But they can certainly show off the two they took from him.

OK
You see blue, I see a different shade.
You clearly missed the joke in the two they took from him.
Here is a reminder of one of them for the heck of it.

BTW, I see you are in Buffalo.

I don't get it. The Giants didn't TAKE anything away from the Patriots. They simply won the games. The victories (or the rings) didn't belong to either team until the end.

You can't take something away from someone they never had/owned. The better team won those two Super Bowls.

Brady has been damn impressive but the Steelers aren't giving up. I'm not a fan of either but I don't care. I'm just glad football is back. I can't take anymore baseball this year.

I agree with you completely regarding baseball. Don't know your reasons...but in sports crazy New England, baseball is still enormously popular. IMO, it's just so slooooooooooooow and boring. AND, even if your team wins the World Series, no one really cares ( aside from the fans of the city that wins). A meaningless exhibition football game gets higher national TV ratings than a World Series game. There's beauty in baseball and I respect that...but it's a dying sport with ZERO national bragging rights. Good to go to a game on summer day with nothing better to do...but that's about it.

At least when you watch paint dry there's a lovely aromatic vapor to enjoy followed by a feeling of minor accomplishment.

Baseball is a lot of standing around, punctuated by a lot more standing around. It's hard to find a good job that pays you to stand around and do nothing for 99% of the day, so I guess we should celebrate the ingenuity of these guys to have created something so brilliant.

Steelers looked out of sync. A couple of significant defensive brain farts put Pittsburg in the hole.

Brady looked good.

Before anyone says "headsets" and "cheating" in the same sentence, the League provides all the equipment and sets up the service. Both teams complained about audio quality.

It's going to be a long season for us Steeler fans with our secondary and D line. I am not optimistic and have discounted what most of national sports writers have said before season started. Many had Steelers in top 5 which I just don't see. Great defenses win championships and this Steeler D is anything but great. You can't win with only linebackers as your D strength. As for Pats no surprise Brady would come out and be the man. He is the best QB in NFL IMHO and Gronk is like and offensive JJ Watt.

Having an offense that can score 30 points a game is useless if the defense is capable of giving up 35. There's a lot of fans around here. When some would bring up the subject of the offense I'd tell them this and they'd look at me with a blank stare. Long year for us my friend
