FS: Rolex Explorer 1 Blackout "Silver Print" dial 14270 RSC serviced and rare

For sale is a very rare Rolex "Blackout" dial Explorer 1 14270.

This one has the even rarer silver print on the dial, making it one of a handful of Rolex sports watches using silver paint on the dial.

The watch is an e-serial dating it to 1990-91.

It has not been worn since service except for a few wrist shots. The case appears to be unpolished. The crown on the correct "O" clasp bracelet is thick and defined leading me to believe that this watch was probably not worn much.

The lume is dead on the indicies and the hands will only glow for a second or 2 after flashing a bright flashlight. I opted not to replace the hands during service as they would've gone with newer style hands. There is a small scratch on the metal part of the minute hand on either side of the lume about 1/4 of the way down. Not bothersome, but worth mentioning.

It has been called one of the rarest sapphire crystal Rolex watches, and is a beautiful modern vintage piece.

This one was serviced by RSC HK in Jan of '14. The receipt from RSC is included.

The watch comes with 12 links (though 3 of the links are high quality aftermarket). will fix an approx. 8" wrist.

Comes with a box, and the service paper and small folder. Also included is a non period correct Explorer booklet and Rolex Oyster booklet (in French).
