Bet back in the day in the late 1960's when it was new no one saw this coming Sometimes the "Value" or what people decide to randomly ask says a lot. When the Submariner Date first came out in the 1950's it sold for $180.00 USD, imagine the cost to get one of those in your collection now

I know that the Paul Newman watch has quite a following.
But I'm sorry to say that the mystic is lost on me. IMO the watch is not worth nowhere near that amount of money.

If I was to buy this (I have done it at auction house)
I ALWAYS charge it on my Amex Plat or NW Visa. The bonus points make it worthwhile! Of course I pay the balance in full before they even send the statement in the mail Amex laughed when I bought a painting for a buddy at 290G on my Amex (he is an art dealer and his card was house account was over its limit but he had a buyer ready for the the painting) Amex is the best! If you have a good history and call them first to explain what you are doing they work with you. |

Yeap...these are the prices folks for old Cosmos with exotic dial,
in fact at the used watch show in Munich were I go every 3 months, original cosmographs with box and papers are selling for around 120-140 thousand euros, roughly (thanks to Bush) $190.000 to 220.000 thousand dollars. |

So it would cost around 400 US $. PLUS the only Rolex watches that you could get a nice discount on (20 % or more!) were the chronographs since they weren't really popular back then.

I kept looking in the posting for the part where Paul Newman actually brings the watch to you at your home after the auction ends.
Couldn't find it. |
