1st Luxury Watch for 40th BDay!!!

I turn 40 this month, and became interested in watches over a year ago. I had not owned a watch since college, a Citizen Quartz, mid 1990's, studly lol.

The first luxury watch that really grabbed my attention (in the budget) was a Rolex Datejust II, 116333- two toned slate dial, green Roman numerals. I was hesitant to buy Rolex because it is the most recognized brand. I usually go against the grain....if everyone rides Harley, I prefer something else.....know what I mean?

Recently, I bought the Datejust II to commemorate 40 years.....a token of life success and failures........a special item to wear-enjoy, and something to pass along to my child when I'm gone. Just wanted to introduce myself, and I hope to comment on some posts when my growing knowledge may assist.

Congratulations and Happy Birthday. And I understand the part about being a little different and going against the grain. Although Rolex is probably the most iconic and recognized luxury watch brand in the world, it is by no means "standard" and you truly went against the standards. I wish you the best and let me warn you, you're going to want a second Rolex within a couple of days if you hang out here often.

Ps. We like pictures here!
