Correct Box for 116520??

Anyone know what the correct box number is for a SS Daytona (116520)? I'm talking about the model numbers printed on the bottom of the green clamshell box.

Thanks in advance.

Someone smarter than me we give you a definitive answer. I am under the impression that there is not a specific box for any Rolex. I believe the watches are sent to the AD without a box. The AD has an inventory of boxes and you get whatever they give you. I'm sure someone else may correct me...

As far as I know the boxes come labeled but aren't watch specific - Small, Medium... for SS Models, PM Models. I guess whatever fits. I've had discussions with several trusted sellers and when they get out of country goods they often source the boxes domestically.

I usually get a small box with my stainless steel sport models but I did get a larger box with my Explorer II. I got it relatively short after its release and while I doubt this had anything to do with it, the AD I used made a big of being one of the first one's she sold. Likely it's just random though I do tend to see the larger boxes with the precious metal references.

Stainless models usually have small box. My Hulk came with this one.

Here you go..... Large is for Gold, Medium is for TT, Regular is for SS.
Numbers differ on the same sizes depending when it was issued.

Hmm my 116520 came with a bigger box. I think medium sized? Ref 39139.64
The gf's date-just came with that smaller box

Edit: maybe it is the small one, it's 7"x5". They do make a even smaller box for the ladies watches though

My TT YMII and BLNR have the size box. Each watch purchased separately from different stores

Mine came with a medium sized box. Purchased brand new from an AD back in 2010.

Small for my current SS Daytona. Medium on my previous SS. I guess it is all random. Some ADs even label the boxes so they know which watch goes with which box.

All the boxes have a white paper around that has the reference of the watch and exact serial number of the watch. But normally that white paper is taken when is given to the client!!
The Daytona steel is always the small box.

I am in the SS=small. TT=medium and PM=large camp. But I don't think that has been/is always adhered to. My DSSD was in a large box for example.

Correct box?

Are you going to wear the box on your wrist?

The numbers on boxes are lot/inventory numbers and change with each production run. Since the 116520 has been in production for 15 years there are likely several different numbers that would be "correct".

As mentioned, the SS watch gets the small box. Depending on the approximate year of the 116520, the box will have different attributes: fold down flap, faulty paint (a batch sticks the top to bottom and comes with a liner between them), inside booklet fold-down, etc.

Here we go. People can't ask a question on this board without someone making a jackass comment about it.

Are you telling me that Rolex doesn't have specific box sizes for its different watches? If not, then why do they make multiple sizes. Simply asking a question as to which is the correct box. No - I'm not wearing the box. But does that mean I can't ask the question.

If everyone on this board spent less time complaining about other people's posts, there would probably be 1/3 less comments on the board. Ridiculous

And there is not longer the cloth or the pillow I guess. My DJ2 I just bought came with neither.

The correct box number for your watch is whatever the AD has on his shelf at point of sale.So watches like the DSSD might come in a larger box but most all other SS watches will come in either a small of sometimes medium its pot luck. Its just a packaging box and not the best in today's watch world most important are the watch and warranty, the rest just packaging. And seeing the boxes are made in different countries world wide and over the span of the past 15 years for watches like the 116520 there could be several different number boxes around both small and medium

Rolex has 4 box sizes and a few special boxes. They are S-XL, and the cellinis and sky dwellers have their own boxes.

Technically, the correct box is the small one. SS models get small, Rolesor (two tone and steel and white gold), and rolesium (steel/pt) get medium, gold watches (and ss ym2 and deepsea) get large. A PM watch with a full diamond bezel will get an extra large.

That said, however, most ORJs do tend to mix things up and will issue an incorrect box from time to time, either in or against your favor.

Enjoy your watch!

The DSSD & Yacht-Master II should come in a Large box.
There is a BIGGER box for any Gold/Plat. Rolex watches with full Diamond bezels!

Last time I bought a watch from an AD he asked me if I wanted a small or medium box.
