Icon7 It's ALL Mine

So, one year ago, I pulled the trigger on my EX II Polar; Love it I prefer to, and have bought all my Rolexes at an AD. The same one from the sales person by the way, anybody interested I will be glad to pass on the contact info; HIGHLY recomended. Let me say right here that IF you prefer to buy yours from Gray dealers, more power to you. Especially if it is with one of the great sellers here on TRF. I have PERSONALLY done business with Tony (JustRolexes) and I will vouche for his professionalism and honesty. I have heard the same things about DavidSW and several other TRF trusted sellers, so if you choose that method you can't go wrong! I just prefer to buy from an AD. Why, could and has been the topic of several hours of discussion and a bunch of threads, so we won't go in to that here.

The point I was going to make was my "financing" of my Rolex. I was ready to put down cash, but my AD, Ben Bridge, offers a "one year same as cash" option. I put down a small amount, I believe it was 20%, and then make monthly payments on the remaining sales price. NO interest or added fees. I thought about it, and decided to take advantage of the offer. Why not? Keep the money I was ready to plunk down in the bank and earn interest on it. Make all the payments, the last one is this months, and for what reason would you NOT want to do this? Has anyone else purcahsed a Rolex this way? I think it's a great.

Well, I mailed off the last payment today So now, this EX II is mine, all mine

Paul, I don't know if every AD does this, but the one I work with in MN does. Haven't purchased that way, but it seems reasonable. Suspect this is for repeat customers (my AD is a jeweler also) and not aligned to Rolex in any way.

Congrats..will look good on your wrist in your new Lincoln!

Congrats! I bought a 1996 GMT II from Tourneau in 1996 with their 2 year, interest free finance plan. Paid it off in 24 months and it was mine!

Congratulations Paul, I put my Submariner on "layaway " for 6 months, no interest, no fees and a slight discount, no brainier for me.

Excellent sounds like you got a great new watch!

I'm guessing leaving the cash in the bank at a max annual percentage yield of 1.05 percent netted a couple hundred bucks. That's real cash for a making payments every month.

IMHO- Buying from a Trusted TRF Seller can provide a much lower net savings as well as a one-time payment on a to ordered new Rolex! (depending on your AD discount) Thanks Takuya and Briboxed!

It is one thing to pay it off if you have the money in the bank to retire the full debt at any time.
It is another thing to use this payment plan to buy a watch when you don't have the money to pay it off. Unless you are able to manage that financial obligation with your personal circumstances its fine, if not then you might find yourself in financial difficulty.

Agreed Steve, if I wasn't ready to plunk down the money when I made the purchase I would not have selected this option... (probably wouldn't have bought the watch).

I was looking at the Rolex store at South Coast Plaza and they offer me a payment plan. I didn't ask for details because I wasn't planning to buy anything.
Congrats on paying off your watch. Enjoy it in good health.

Around my area they offer 24 months 0% interest just have to make a min. Payment every month. 25% interest after 24months.

Not bad if you dont want to take a big hit at one time but you have the money anyway.

Congrats! I'm sure it feels even better knowing you own it outright.
I've done it in the past but nowadays I try to avoid monthly payments on anything whenever possible. So even when interest free financing is available, I pay in full.

And if I had the cash I would probably just buy the watch outright. It's a luxury purchase so I would rather pay and get it all done in one go.

if i had the money upfront then technically there is no reason not to its free money, a lot of people do it with all of their purchases, using 0% credit cards

that said current interest rates may make it not worth the hassle ... personally my bank account is seperate from my interest account, would have to remember to transfer money each month etc, and if you forget just once would probably cost more than all the interest earned over the year

other option for some is to keep the money in stocks .. may argue that is more risk but if i ever made so much loss that there was not enough money in there for a watch , would soon be bankrupt anyway

Congratulations, Paul! You got to use their money for a year and now you own the watch free and clear! Looks like it's time to search for another great 0% financing deal!
