Some help? 533, 531, 351
Hey guys,
Its been a while since posting but the watch bug has bitten again. So tried to stay away from the Pam's. Checked a Rolex GMT Master II but it just doesn't suit me for some reason, I love seeing them on others but not me. AP 15400... strange looking on my wrist but might be because I have seen the 15300 in the wild and that is a better size/proportion. I used to like the IWC Spitfire 3878 but after trying on a 1950's Luminor case... I really want one. So I am torn between the 531 and the 533. The 351 is kind of a semi distant 3rd, mainly because I find the titanium too light for a PAM :) The tobacco dial and gold hands are lovely though. So the 531 has me at 24 hr traditional GMT, like my 297, however it is quite similar to my 297.... The 533 has that lovely 10 day reserve and I have really enjoyed the 7days the my IWC Portuguese gives me. I also would have loved to have the 270 back when I got my 297, but funds were a different situation back then. I do not really plan on selling this watch as it is for my birthday present. So what could you guys recommend? Also, how do you find the polished cases? They are growing on me for adding a touch of "class" to the case, but I do love how brushed really shows off the shape of the case. Anything outside of PAM I might be open to as well.... classic to commemorate a birthday (30) :) Look forward to read some interesting input :) |

so, you currently have the 297? if so, i'd quickly move on from the 531, because i happen to much prefer the 88/297 to the 531 (the fake lume on a modern looking PAM doesn't work at all for me).
the 533 is a nice piece, but, i'd rather have a 233 for the dome + the non-fauxtina lume. 351 is a really nice 1950s case model with the Ti + brown dial + gold hands making for a great combination! maybe not a "one and only" PAM, but awesome as part of a collection. so, of the three you mentioned, it would be 351 for me. here are some pix for those that are too lazy to look things up.... 531 533 351 |

Haha.. thanks for posting the pics, I was thinking of doing that now but then saw your reply.
Why is there no love for the lume colour? It looks great in person at least. I will see the 533 in the flesh tonight but not sure I'll like the blacked out hands. I do like the 233, but I like having an automatic. however the 372's I have seen in various posts look nice, but after GMT due to a lot of travel. |

So tried the 533 in the flesh and I must say that I really like it.
I know there are haters on the colour of the lume.. but I think it works very nicely : ) Also got given a very very tempting price... What percentage discount is considered too good to miss to you guys? |

The 533 is significantly thicker than the 233 in size and proportion
