YM vs JLC

Getting ready for my second piece and am immersed in a tough decision. I have an lv which I love, but am now interested in something with blue as my next piece. Narrowed it down to one of my favorites of all time, the blue dial platty YM, or this JLC moonphase silver dial in steel. JLC is beautiful, but how impractical is the leather. Never take my lv off. It'd also kill me if that YM went out of production, you never know with Rolex...

I like the idea of bringing a JLC into the mix, however I do also struggle with what you mentioned about leather bands. I love them and think they look great, however, I'm the type of guy that likes to be able to put my watch on for the day without worrying regardless of if it's snowing, raining, or at the beach/pool on vacation.

Because of that, I'd lean towards the Yacht-Master. Plus I'm biased since I have the blue ones brother:

If you work in an office environment, this gets my vote - and it's not even close. This would give you a white and a blue dial; you can't beat that value. Plus it is so classy and elegant.

I like the JLC MUT Moon as well, but it just felt too small and light in SS. I was a little disappointed when I tried it on because I really wanted to like it. The rose gold won me over, but not the SS.

Personal preference of course but I tend to agree with Speed on this one. The JLC is a very classy looking watch and has superb finishing inside and out. You've already got a Rolex that you like so I agree that the JLC will mix things up a bit and will add more versatility to your collection.

The strap is more durable than you might think, but you obviously won't be doing any swimming with this one. Get a deployant clasp and prolong your strap life considerably, or enjoy many of the rather affordable after market straps available when the time comes to replace. Nice thing about adding a new strap is it makes your watch look new again.

If it's got to be blue then there's always the Patek Nautilus.

Not a big fan of Patek when it comes to sports watches, but the blue dial nautilus comes about as close as any to combining an elegant finish with a submersion durable timepiece. Classy watch, blue dial, and metal band. Not sure your budget but might be worth a look.

I'd probably go JLC, although, if you're looking for something blue, I'd seriously look at the new Omega Globemaster. It's fantastic.

It is however extremely likely that my next piece will be that JLC moonphase. I really like the jlc's.

I would also consider a Nautilus, although I still think the Globemaster is incredible for the money.
