Vintage Big Bubbleback 1954
See my earlier post, I'm looking for a GMT or GMTII. Have three watches for sale, this is one of them.
Recently purchased, checked over by my watchmaker and given a decent report. Keeps excellent time, worthy of the Rolex name. Acrylic crystal is okay, some marks on the sides. 34x40mm (not counting the crown) 14KRG/SS Rolex Oyster Perpetual "BIG BUBBLEBACK" Ref 6085 Chronometer ca 1954. This example is four times signed- dial, case, movement and correct non screwdown SUPER OYSTER crown. The model ref 6085 is stamped inside the lug and on the inside of the caseback. The serial number 899977 is stamped inside the other lug. These numbers are well worn. The movement is the VIS TERETTE TRIGGER SCREW Rolex BIG BUBBLEBACK movement. Signed: Rolex Perpetual Chronometer, Swiss Made Pat. The dial is in Very Good Plus condition- silver with raised pink gold markers which match the pink rose gold engine turned bezel. There are a couple of areas where the turning has smoothed, as you would expect with any 50 year old watch. The strap is crap but new. Very comfortable on the wrist, don't be afraid to wear this one. As I'm located in Australia, Paypal is the preferred method of payment, or wire into my bank account. It is possible to pay a friendand fellow Rolex owner in the US via money order or check if you don't trust sending funds to Australia. My bay name is jackafrica for selling, arkayokay for buying. 400+ positive transactions in total over nine years. Happy to speak with you in person on the telephone if requested, at my expense. Initial contact please via pm. $1200 US plus shipping. |

Haven't had any interest on this early chronometer - am I in the wrong place ?
Does the price smell ? Do I smell ? Or are things too tight to mention ? cheers Richard |
